Don’t believe the hype. They filter out bad reviews. Some of the teachers here are adult bullies who bully parents, and the principal will back the teacher who is blatantly being just plain mean and immature.

I love JES. Both my sons have attended this school and have always been very excited about going to school. Academically I have seen so much growth and I love their approach on the 7 mindsets which focuses on student’s social emotional skills. I have always been able to communicate easily with my kid’s teachers and have never had one single concern with my children’s safety.

The teachers have such bad attitudes! They are rude, and many I’ve encountered seem to just be plain stressed out. I believe they are overworked.

We are an in district family. We have strict family rules and expectations of behaviors with that being said we have experienced a very difficult year in the elementary school. I have a daughter who was in the academy, middle, and high school. If you go to the elementary school I would caution you if your children have educational struggles. We have pulled our elementary age children out and put them into private school.

Seems as if gone down hill since between breaks of thanksgiving and Christmas, some things are good ,however schools are not set up for children with issues, communication with parents regarding your child's education is limited,be sure they will communicate alot about fundraisers ,money driven schools

This is my daughter's second year attending JES. I am very pleased with the education she has received so far. I have to agree with the review from 2014. The school promotes the "Dragon Roar" mission: Respectful, On Task, Always safe, and Responsible. My child is exposed to a positive, safe, and structured learning environment. My daughter is an out of district student. We love JES!

We absolutely love JES! They have the best staff! Your children are sure to get a great education. And I would have to say I have never seen a better principal! We are blessed to be a part of such a great school system :)

Jefferson Elementary does not care about the students that live in the city limits, they get your tax dollars whether your child goes there or not, they have no reason to care. Principal does not do anything about problems in the school.

We love Jefferson Elementary! I hate it we will have to move from such a great school. Kids go to school to learn and not be entertained. So if you want high expectations out of your children and for them to learn something send them here.

We love JES! Our daughter is learning so much at school. Not just about academics, but about being a good learner, a good citizen, and a good friend to others. The staff all seem to love their job. We are transplants to the Jefferson area and have been welcomed just fine. I have seen comments about parents not liking "walking in a straight line". How do you propose that a building that houses over 700 children ages 4-8 let them walk down the hall safely? I think a straight line is probably the best option and the one we defiantly want our daughter participating in. I have to say those comments shocked me. I see great evidence that the teachers love their job, love children, and are willing to put great effort into educating the "whole child". The principal is AMAZING! You can't talk to her for even 1 minute without realizing her passion for kids and their future. She has only been at JES for a couple of years, but what a difference she makes in the building. I would recommend this school to anyone. I am so happy that my daughter gets to experience it now and my son will in a couple of more years. What a blessing JES has been to our family! Thank you for all your hard work!

Excellent school system! Teachers take good care and are very disciplined with the students. My son had Spanish as his first language, and in three months, in Pre-K he was understanding everything, began to speak in English and learned the letters and numbers fast. Enrolling my son in this School has been one of the best decisions we made.

My child just started at JES so I can only give an average rating. Time will tell.

I have found that Jefferson Elementary School is a wonderful place for my children. Today many parents are raising their children with no respect for rules. The teachers at JES are teaching these children the importance of behaving correctly, as well as covering the academics. The school has easy to follow rules, and the children are expected to follow them. I have noticed that other parents think this is a military style of teaching. In my opinion, this is a welcome to life way of teaching. Rules are made for us to follow and not to break them.

We just completed grade K for our 3rd child and had a wonderful experience! I wish every child could attend a school like ours! From my observations, as a parent of 3 here, the school seems to have dumped the very few programs that used to seem too strict to some of the reviewers here. Things were very fun and positive while still be structured. I am really amazed at just what our schools offers the students even after school fun! The parent/school communication is the best. The school constantly offers extras and outside school ways to improve our children's educational experience. They even provided a full summer curriculum so we don't have to create our own anymore. I believe this system cares about our kids long term and helps them achieve their very best.

We did alot of research about GA public schools before deciding on Jefferson a few yrs ago & we have been very pleased. Our 3 boys are excepted to be ready to learn when they arrive at school & be respectful to their teachers-strange idea I know. So the 'military style' comments seem a bit harsh to me. What is so wrong w/structure & disipline, especially when so many children are not taught how to behave properly in school by their parents. I haven't had any issues w/any of the teachers d/t being an 'outsider'-maybe I just pushed my way in. The only issue I do have is w/the carpool-absolutely awful!!! The admin doesn't seem to take suggestions for improvement (like why not let parents park on the front lawn for drop off/pick up or trying to have 2 lanes),w/700+ kids @JES carpool definitely needs improvement.
