As parents transitioning from a small charter school, we had high hopes for Jefferson Academy. We're thrilled to say they've not only been met but exceeded! The quality of education is top-notch, exceeding our expectations. What truly sets Jefferson apart is the amazing staff and teachers. They genuinely care about each child, creating a warm and supportive environment. Our kids feel loved and get the individual attention they need to thrive. We couldn't be happier with our decision to join the Jefferson Academy family. Highly recommend!

I have had 3 children to go to Jefferson Academy. I have been very impressed by the consistency of quality public education. My children had previously been enrolled in other school districts in other states, I am very pleased with Jefferson's commitment to provide children with a great education without the fear of gangs, violence, in and other distracting things.

Does this school have extremely high standards and expectations of our children? Yes. Will it be as warm and fuzzy as another elementary? maybe not. I believe if you set the bar high a child will strive for it. My daughter has done just that. Like with any publicly funded school there will be politics involved (tests, funding and now common core) but if the parent stays on top of it and remains informed and involved this can be tolerated. Parents need to be involved! We are happy with the Academy and loved seeing our daughter exceed in all subjects.

Don't fall for the hype about this school. Check out US News ratings for college readiness from this district. The school is overcrowded, packed with paying out of district kids to jack up CRCT scores. The general culture here is one of browbeating. The principle fosters it, passes it on to the teachers who yell, yell , yell at kids all day, the kids are mean to each other and then teachers say it can't be helped because they bring that in from home. 9 year olds here are eloquent in all forms of usage of the "f" word. We are at another public school now where teachers are warm and concerned-and the kids are nice to each other. Jefferson is shockingly uncaring for children. The district motto is "we strive for functional adults". Wow.
