Overall good school. I felt that the teachers really cared throughout the whole school year. I had an advanced 3rd grader who excelled, mostly A's and some B's. Excelled in EOG testing. Good energetic teacher. If something minor arose, teacher reached out immediately. I also had a very smart but hyper 2nd grader who was a bit of a challenge throughout the year. Best in reading and math but had a hard time focusing. Whom was placed in 2nd/3rd split class. Teacher communicated on consistent bases. She said things like "we can do this" and "you parents are doing awesome" . I really appreciated her care for the students. The last quarter my child finally made the honor roll and really improved behavior. One issue I had was the testing that caused my child to receive a 2 score almost every quarter although he could read at a very advanced level. Another issue was the reading log that my eldest child didn't turn in one month, that I wasn't aware of. This caused them to miss a big trip at the end of the year, that tickets were placed for and my child could not attend even after talking to the principle. I explained I filled out every log, every month. Someone should have notified me that it was not turned in at that time. So my child had to sit at the school in an empty room while all others got to go on a nice field trip for reading. not fair and a hard thing to explain to a 7 year old who read every night.

I could not be more excited for this past school year to come to an end. My daughters first grade teacher was beyond horrific. No communication..no one on one attention in the reading in which she needed extra help...rude phone calls and emails and the classroom was a disaster. I love walking in my child's classroom and see trash everywhere. I tried to voice my concern with administration but that was a loss cause. I will be happy to report my daughter will be attending a charter school right around the corner for next year. Listening to friends and neighbors about her new school I can't wait for her to begin. They hated shadybrook when their kids were there..moved to the charter school (PA) right down the road and are truly impressed with their decision...along with tons of others that made the switch. Shadybrook you better shape up bc you are going to lose more students.

Our daughter has gone to Shadybrook for 3 years now. We are VERY happy. From the Top down this school is fantastic. The Principal is wonderful and very outgoing. The teachers are top notch, friendly and will to work with the parents if there are any concerns. The PTA does a GREAT job of keeping the parents and kids involved in wonderful activites throughout the year. The ACES program (after-school care program) is run by very nice and professional people and my daughter loves going there and playing, and getting her homework done. Keep up the great work Shadybrook !!!

I have been very pleased with this school. After coming to this school from one that does not care about their students or parents input, I can say that these teachers and the administration cares about it all. The parents are wonderful. I have never seen such parent involvement. Any concerns or questions that I have every had have been addressed either by the administration or the teacher. I am very impressed. I currently have a 2nd grader and a 5th grader at Shadybrook. My oldest son attended Shadybrook as well, he is now on the 7th grade. All three of my children absolutely love Shadybrook.
