I enrolled my 3rd grader mid school year as we moved from a different state. I was so worried about my daughter adapting. I was in constant communication with her teacher Mrs. Fulbright. She was so understanding and kind. (& funny) She put my concerns at ease. I am very happy with GT and their administration staff. My daughter sustained an injury and the administrators made themselves readily available to talk re: my concerns. Overall, I am beyond grateful we found this gem of a school.

I have two children attending Taylor this year. We previously attended a high ranking charter and then a private school in the area. I must say Glen Taylor has exceeded our expectations. My kids love going to school each day. Very few to no tears at the end of the day, unlike previous schools we r attended. They are getting a stellar education. My Kindergartener is now reading very well and enjoys school, his teacher celebrates his accomplishments with him which really boosts his motivation. My second grader loves her teacher very much and is engaged in class. They enjoy the specials as well, especially the music program. The community overall is great. Every person on staff and the parents alike are there to make sure the kids gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Our only complaint is, we wish the school could find a new science teacher, because science was their favorite special of all.

This school has gone downhill since new leadership with new principal. She is horrible and not much liked by staff or parents. School may be losing their 5 star ranking.

Today i was upset with the school because they didn’t notify me that my sons school bus was going to be late. I was worried and I had to drive to school to check what was going because the school didn’t answer their phone. When I got to the school they said that the bus had just left and they still didn’t give me an explanation why the bus was late. They need to communicate with the parents more about this stuff but instead they have us worried.

I loved this school when I attended. I am heading into 9th grade next year, and I owe it all to Glen Taylor.

This is my 1st year with this school we moved from the East Coast this summer and my son is in 2nd grade. So far I have nothing but great things to say about the Principal, office staff, teachers and PTA!! All so welcoming and despite what you may read online about Nevada school systems being low rated...this school definitely has high standards with their curriculum similar to some of the best schools around the country!!

I am a retired elementary teacher with grand children at this school. I tend to be quite "picky" when it comes to choosing the best for them. I feel that they will receive the best education possible at Glen C. Taylor. Years of experience and interaction with the fine teachers at Taylor comprise the basis for everything I say that is positive about this fine school!

The administration, leadership, teachers are great. My daughter started 1st grade here and she was lucky to get a great teacher, Mrs. Buldoc. Her class was 20 kids and we had some pretty involved parents, that makes a difference to the teachers load and the kids learn more. The schools PTA is very active and encourages parents to get involved. Overall we had a good experience. I would wish for a bit more academics but it's hard for teachers to move curriculum faster as there are those kids that didn't do kindergarten and were too behind. My daughter came from a private school so she was ahead but she still improved and learned, we also do work at home just like all the other top students in her class. The public system can only do so much academically, it's up to the parent to spend a little bit of time w the kids to get them ahead. Overall it was good enough that we decided we are not going back to the private school which we loved but financially was tough. The school is big on Kindness and respect towards one another. As far as I could tell there was no bullying and the kids and parents were very friendly.

This is school is not friendly with kids who struggle. I had my child there for 2 years and she was not striving and got no help. Additionally, we did not receive much information about programs, sports or field trips. This school fails on a level of communication that is key to the success of your child. The staff was very hands off.

This school is terrible. I had my son enrolled last year for 2nd grade. The teacher refused to help us when we asked for additional resources or help or to get together to discuss his failing english grades after she was late getting grades to us and gave us no warning that he was failing until then. We would spend hours with him on homework and weekends with no help from her. Additionally, we came to pick him up once and they had lost him and he didn't reappear for over 20 minutes and the teacher had no idea that he had ever left her presence! My friend walked straight through the office and into the school once without knowing any of the staff or having anybody ask her who she was! Our son failed the second grade and could have easily been kidnapped. Additionally, they offer no talent show or any medium like that which I though was odd.

I really enjoy this school. My 9 year old has been here since kindergarten and he has enjoyed every year. Next year, our youngest son will start kindergarten and we are sure he will have the same enjoyable experience.

Love this school! The front office staff and faculty are wonderful! I thank my lucky stars that my daughter has such a fantastic school! Even the lunch lady is wonderful. Thank you Glen Taylor staff!

Taylor school has the best front desk team, especially Kay, she was very efficient at the beginning of school with all the craziness with the office being crowded and everyone needing help, Kay took charge with a smile on her face all the time...very professional

Kay in the front office is the most miserable woman on the earth. Why she is seated in the VERY FRONT of the office is beyond me. She NEVER greets you, never speaks to you, you have to say HI to her first before she will even look up, and even then she still doesn't say hi, she waits for you to tell her what you need. Ridiculous!! If she's so miserable she needs to quit. Other than that I am happy with this school. This is our first year in this state, town, school and other than KAY, Glen Taylor is a good school.

I have mixed reviews about Glen Taylor. PTA communication is 1/10 with 1 being the lowest. The office staff is very moody and not very personable. Sometimes they are pleasant other times they are just DMV cranky. The school nurse seemed inattentive when I was telling her about my daughter's health concern. I walked in and was not greeted or noticed for a while even though I stood right in front of there desk. Homework isn't graded in Kindergarten. The only time you find out if your child needs help or improvement is through progress reports where the teacher says isn't accurate. Teacher to parent communication is 3/10. Sometimes we are informed of what to expect in advance for the following month, many times we don't. I've ended up calling several other parents trying to figure out what's going on just to learn they are doing the same. Kindergarten is mostly about performance not much on what is known & learned. My daughter actually asked for EXTRA work because she was bored. What is great about the school are the kids. The kids are great. Most parents are active in their child's learning within the classroom and out. My daughter is in first grade now, we will see how that goes.
