I enrolled my son mid year in 6th grade as we moved from another state. I was so concerned about him adapting to a new school at half way thru the first year beginning middle school. Tough age .... not to mention the mom guilt I felt for moving as a family. BMMS staff was so kind and communicative. I love that they offered a financial literature class. & y the end of the school year my received the GRIT award. I was so happy we made it to Bob miller Middle School. It really is a great school. (Bonus: school is Named after a Former Governor of the State, we had the opportunity to hear him speak at the award ceremony)

My child hated it there. The teachers were very unsupportive and didn't seem to care much. I pulled her out because she was getting bullied and her teachers were horrible, too. I would reach out to her teachers to see if there was anything I could do to help and I never got a real answer from any of them. The counselor was useless as well. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone at all. Private school would be a better way to go.

So first off there are really bad teachers. Like the 7th grade math teacher. Im not gonna call him out (Goldhammer) but he is very awful to his students. And teachers making kids feel insecure. And those kids are bullying! I also saw my kid show me a picture of PINK CHICKEN! And they got food poisoning. Honestly disappointing. It’s so sad kids who go here are forced to go. Do not send your kids here. Send them somewhere else. Save your time! This school will slutshame your kids.

I'm gonna be honest, ever since I started going here, my mental health has never been worse. It's so stressful and I get bullied a lot here. A lot of parents say that it's a great school and that the education is amazing which is semi true. the teachers are oblivious to the bullies most of the time. But they do a great job at teaching. And the school counselor doesn't really do much to be honest. but the education is pretty good.

Pulling our kid out. Mixed feelings on this school. BMMS is a good example of a previously great public school slowly succumbing to CCSD underlying issues. PROS: Faculty tenure & credentials. Seasoned & mostly caring instructors. Admin is very good/responsive as well; numerous clubs/extracurricular activities; located in a safe community. Academics are differentiated to challenge your child especially if they are in accelerated classes.CONS: Class sizes range from 35-40 students. Several teachers carrying 150-200 students altogether thru the day. Several teachers avoid giving assignments which are grading-intensive (like essays). ELA sees a lot of group “busy work.” This does not help develop writing/essay skills needed for HS. Individualization is very limited. Social influences: with such a large student body, be prepared for EVERYTHING. Gender/sexual identity is a major theme on campus. The exposure is significant & can be very confusing for this age group. With it comes added drama to an already challenging age for these kids. ELA readings include these types of relationships as well so be aware - yeah, we were surprised as well. Unfortunately, BMMS has lost its protected community appeal & has become an assembly line at the expense of the faculty & students (thanks CCSD). 1700+ kids for middle school is outrageous. If your kid embraces Darwinistic concepts/socialization, send them there. If you value your child’s education & social development, I suggest researching a good private school if that is an option.

This school is no lower than a 9/10 in reality. There are no recent reviews so we felt compelled to provide a review for prospective parents/students. We base our assessment on the following: administrative leadership & proactiveness, academic development/rigor, overall faculty tenure/quality & responsiveness, extracurricular programs, and school safety. Don't be misled by Great Schools' 7/10 rating.For comparison purposes, our daughter attended top-rated public schools in Southern California and Redmond, WA. We strongly believe BMMS to be the best school thus far; very surprising as we had heard very negative feedback regarding the Nevada public school system. Prior to enrolling our daughter at BMMS, we visited several private/charter schools in the Henderson area (HIS, Challenger, CASLV, LMCA, Pinecrest, etc.). Yes, we did on site visits. Principal Donadio's assembly presentation during pre-pandemic 2020 was hands-down the most impressive. She is a progressive innovator & BMMS is simply a stepping-stone for her higher ascent in the CCSD.The Admin staff starting with the principal is outstanding. They are involved, proactive, and responsive. Principal Donadio is tirelessly omnipresent and informed. AP Wikler maintains great communication with parents on issues ranging from ensuring students have charged Chrome Books, coordinating extracurricular events/programs, and various other issues. VP Berg and Donadio greatly involved in school safety & applied mitigations.As for faculty? Of our daughter's five teachers. Four each have 20+ years of experience while the other has 10+ years. We were unable to find ANY private or charter school that could rival this...NONE. Mind you, in spite of their tenure, they are FAR from being burned out. They are innovative, energetic, and challenging especially if you have an accelerated student. Our very bright daughter is CHALLENGED. HW & quizzes abound, but are tempered. The virtual open house was impressive listening to the CVs for her teachers. Few examples: Spanish teacher Ekker maintains very high expectations & will be taking a group to Spain in April '22; very experienced Math teacher Goldhammer is talented & makes kids accountable; and Science teacher Caldwell was an actual scientist in a previous life. All offer assistance before & after school. The few cons: heavy traffic in the AM/PM; high enrollment; some peer/social pressures.You will not find a better private/public Middle School in Henderson...

This school is great! I have had three kids go there and all have had wonderful experiences and all the teachers have been nothing less than excellent! Mrs Donadio has encouraged a culture of growth for th kids. They allow a redo policy that at first I didn’t understand the philosophy behind. As the kids have progressed through the grades I now understand the logic behind this. a math teacher explained it to me as this: if the child does not do well on a test because they do not understand the material, they have an opportunity it learn the material and redo the test. Most material builds from what was previously taught. The majority of teachers require some sort of extra work before they can redo the test. Overall I believe his method has allowed my children to learn more. Some pervious stayed that this has not prepared their child for high school. I disagree, as my child is now in high school and succeeding.

moved here from another school bc we didnt like the home schoolwe had. we moved here from another state we were warned that all schools in the district wont come close to where we came from. With that said, we gave BMMS a chance bc it was slightly better environment. THe office is not professional. The policies andprocedures need revamping, nothing works efficiently, they can firehalf the staff if they implemented better policies. The old man thatis outside in the parking lot in the mornings and afternoon has theworse attitude and stares at girls and women butts. I've seen it, my daughter says everyone knows about it. For us the good news we wont be coming back and will finally settle down in our home school.

The staff does nothing with bullying, if anything, the staff more or less bullies the students. They take things we paid for, even if its not open, and get us in trouble for the smallest things.

It is a pretty good school but the deans adminitrarion does not so enough for the kids that want to learn than the OTHERS.

This school was the top school for many years until the new principal, Ms. Donadio took over. She and her administrative staff encourage the teachers to be the student's friends, nurture them and "cuddle them with emotional support" by allowing the students to constantly "RE-DO" their work and tests just so that they can get a good grade. By doing this, the students do NOT learn the concepts being taught, it does not prepare the students for High School and especially the "Real World". How many jobs allow you to "Re-do" your work over and over? Many complaints have been issued from Coronado High School regarding Ms. Donadio's policies and her comment is that she does not care, it is her school and she will do what she wants to. Many students have come back after they leave Bob Miller and ask why were they given the opportunity to do "Re-do's" when their high school does not. Her policies are making it more difficult for the students to adjust in high school, which is not fair to the students. This is a prime example that Ms. Donadio does NOT care about her students along with her teachers. Ms. Donadio's comments is that she does NOT want Bob Miller Middle School to be a top school, just to "fly under the radar" so she does not have to do anything. Not has the school gone downhill in academics due to her regime, but the appearance of the school has also fallen. Go into a hallway and see stains all over the floor because she allows food and drink (other than water) to be carried around by students. It is embarrassing that a principal and her administrative staff accept this. Also, she does NOT support her teachers in any way she does whatever the parents want to avoid conflict with them. Ms. Donadio needs to realize that this is a Middle School and NOT elementary or preschool. Someone at the district and Governor Miller should take note of what this person has done to the school. Bring back Mr. Larnard or someone like him who cares about their staff and students.

I completed all three years in middle school at Bob Miller (2012-2015), but it was nothing special. The academics were alright but the teachers were more like nagging parents than instructors that respected students. The deans treat the students like they're incapable of handling themselves and the school as an incredibly restricting dress code that the insensitive counselors and staff regularly implement. Education is great but the atmosphere, subpar at best.

I go to this school, is so great. I love that the school takes our opinion. The first year I did not care about my grades than something click on me that yes I am not good at school but I am doing better when I came to this school I could not read but I am doing better and yes every school has its dow fall, but are we not human is ok to make mistakes we all do it you and me and everyone . sorry about my spelling but I will get better. I teacher has made more mistakes than a student because the student hasn't even try.

Bob Miller is a great school. I ve been here 6-8th. The teachers are amazing here. Basically all of the teachers are nice. They re really easy to get along with and not very strict, which is a definite plus for the students. I actually get along with my teachers so well that I still visit my 6-7th grade teachers before/after school and I m also the babysitter for one as well. We take lots of field trips to various places. Some of which include Catilina Island, El Segundo Sol (spanish class), Mon Ami Gabi (french class), Bodies Exhibit at Luxor, Disneyland, and even Europe (7th & 8th) plus more! And for the 2014-15 school year, 7th grades can take French1 (which is high school credit) to get even further ahead. I find it really easy to get along with people here and get friends, especially for guys. Yes, there are the cliques, but those can be found at any school. Throughout my 3 years here, i have heard of/witnessed three, maybe four fights. Bullying is not a huge problem at all and we even have various ways to report bullies if there are any. Athletics are for sure above average here for numerous sports. Overall, Bob Miller is an amazing school for you, or you re child to attend.
