As a parent I have been impressed with the administration at this school. My son was having a hard time transitioning to a new school, and both the Principal and Assistant Principal went out of their way to make him feel included in the school community.

The district went through some very difficult budget years and made some decisions that exacerbated the problem. If you are an engaged parent, you will love this school. If you're not, well, I guess it doesn't really matter. This is a very above average school caught up in a below average school district. Third kid is going here now and believe me, Most of the teachers really care, some are GREAT and some need to move on.

Community members raved about this school and when we visited, nothing seemed amiss. 28 kids in the class including 4 with heavy special needs. Music and Art occur at long intervals, music teacher uses an iPod (can't make this up). Homework is not marked -- in their defense, they don't lie about it when you press them. The teacher seemed like a genuinely talented and caring guy, as did the principal, but the education is not happening, period. Two stars is generous. We ended up doing our own enrichment program by finding an appropriate accelerated syllabus and hiring a student teacher from Mesa State.
