My grandson moved to Gilbert from Texas a year ago. When he arrived at Val Vista Lakes Elementary, it was really hard to understand his speech. I also knew he was very bright, but he didn’t seem to be showing any significant academic achievement. Since starting at Val Vista, they immediately got him the speech therapy he needed, and his speech has improved 100%. He has thrived in his classes and is now performing at the level I knew he was capable of. He is excited about school and loves his classmates and teachers. It is such a positive environment and has made such a difference in my grandson’s life. It must be a happy place because there is a very low teacher turnover rate. And there’s a great sense of community I have felt when I have attended activities there.

VVL is a wonderful school with a warm, welcoming community that feels like family. The friendly and supportive staff create a positive, safe environment where students thrive. The classrooms are filled with passionate educators who make learning fun and engaging. The students are happy and eager to learn! Overall, VVL provides an exceptional A+ educational experience with a strong sense of support and care to meet each individual child's needs.

We could not be happier with Val Vista Lakes Elementary School. I have two daughters, ages 7 and 5 enrolled currently and I am always so grateful for this tight-knit community. The teachers are passionate, talented and encourage parental involvement. Principal Mr Miller is so abundantly proud of his staff, and he’s ALWAYS visible around campus. These days I count myself incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful public school in our neighborhood.

Overall, I am very happy with my children’s experience at Val Vista Lakes. Throughout the years they have had very caring teachers that have fostered a love of learning in my children. Because of the positive environment at Val Vista Lakes my children love going to school everyday.

My daughters have gone to VVL since kindergarten and I have nothing but positive things to say about the school, teachers, and overall learning environment. The teachers truly care about each students needs and go above and beyond if there is a problem.

Very lovely community I myself also grew up in Val Vista Lakes and went to Val Vista Lakes Elementary never had anything negative to say about the school. Teachers are super friendly and welcoming. My kids enjoy going to school everyday . I’m so glad to have my kids a part of an excellent school that I also attended . Staff and principal are such a pleasure to work with and be around as well . Highly would recommend.

We have had such an incredible experience at VVL. It is evident that every single employee genuinely loves their job and cares for the students. The principal, Mr. Miller, is actively involved around campus whether it's greeting families at morning drop off/afternoon pick-up, leading the kindergarten Teddy Bear Parade, or cracking jokes and high-fiving with students in the hallways and cafeteria. The kindergarten team is fabulous and works cohesively together to set a foundation of love of learning amongst their students. We love that VVL offers many different programs to fit all learners (i.e.: Accelerated, Special Education, Gifted, and ELL.) We highly recommend VVL! :)

We moved from out of state 18 months ago and Val Vista was our neighborhood school at our rental house. When we bought our house and had the opportunity to switch schools we chose to remain here because the teachers and school were so welcoming. We noticed an improvement in our middle son’s learning and overall behavior after moving here which has been such a blessing. The accelerated program is a great fit and challenges my oldest son. My youngest son has made great friends and continues to improve daily with his reading skills because of the first grade teachers are wonderful and work together to ensure no student is left behind.

This is a good school. Students are safe, teachers are engaged, and administration is a visible part of drop off and pick up. We have used open enrollment to attend VVL with all of our kids.

We absolutely love VVL. Our principal is amazing and our teachers have all been A+. Both our boys have been there since preschool and we have had a wonderful experience. All our teachers have been so wonderful helpful caring and very attentive. VVL community has been so great as well.

I love VVL! My daughter is Ms. Walker’s 1st grade room! We love her! We are so grateful our daughter as such a fun and experienced teacher! I get to work in Mrs. Young’s 3rd grade room, she rocks! Mrs. Young is a teacher master! I love Mrs. Young! I love Mrs. Marble! She works hard to help her spice students! VVL is the place to be!

I am the mother of a seven year-old autistic boy. I was terrified to send him to school because I feared he would only be seen for his diagnosis and not the wonderful, intelligent, sweet boy that he is. I am pleased to say that Val Vista Lakes Elementary welcomed him with open arms, fully embracing and accepting him. My son began at VVL in their SPICE developmental preschool program. When he began, he was considered nonverbal, struggled with fine and gross motor skills, lacked motor planning and was otherwise developmentally behind. After three years in the developmental preschool, he not only was talking, but reading! He graduated from occupational therapy and qualified for advanced kindergarten. At this point, VVL felt like home and we applied for an exception to continue at VVL. My son's kindergarten and first grade experiences have been just as wonderful. He continued in the SPICE program into kindergarten where the Special Education team taught him coping skills that have contributed to his success. His homeroom teachers have fostered inclusive environments where everyone is treated with respect and differences are embraced. My son's story of success is due greatly in part to the teachers, Special Education team, and principal at VVL. Principal Miller can be found each morning helping kids unload from their cars. He knows each one by name and checks in with parents. As my son walks into school, nearly every teacher, administrator and support staff member greets him by name. He is cared about not only as a student, but as a person. Last year, my daughter started in the Advantage Preschool Program and her experience at Val Vista Lakes Elementary has been just as wonderful. The inclusive environment at VVL has developed a mature awareness in her. This year she is in the Kinder Prep program. We are enjoying all aspects of the program, but have been particularly impressed by the early reading skills she has acquired in just the first quarter. We are grateful to be part of the Val Vista Lakes family.

Academics: Accelerated and Gifted programs are excellent. They provide social and behavioral support for accelerated and gifted students, which I believe are necessary for academic success.Front Office: Staff are always cheerful, friendly, organized, and helpful.Leadership: Everyone loves the principal. He truly cares about the school, students, teachers, and other staff.Grounds: Well maintained by dedicated and hardworking staff.Teachers: So far, every teacher has been outstanding. They are dedicated to their students’ well being and success.Overall, we love pretty much everything about this school and we look forward to all the remaining years at VVL. :)

This school is absolutely amazing. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. My daughter is excited to go to school and loves her teachers. She is in preschool and although I was nervous, I feel completely comfortable having my child go to this school. I feel like her best interest is really important to the school. Parents receive ample communication that helps keep us in the loop and know what’s going on. I would HIGHLY recommend this school.

My family is so fortunate to attend Val Vista Lakes Elementary School. For the past 4 years, we have had nothing but incredible experiences with all aspects of the school - the teachers are engaging, the curriculum is spectacular, and the school fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment. I'm particularly impressed by the scope of services provided at VVLE - my children (currently in grades 4, 4, and 1), have a range of academic gifts and exceptionalities, from learning disabilities through giftedness. We have had the pleasure of having children in both the comprehensive accelerated and conventional classrooms, and have been continuously impressed by the quality of individualized education available in both. It was the school that first flagged one of my sons as lagging in reading, and with their help, we were able to identify both internal and external resources to diagnose and support his dyslexia. The school has been his biggest cheerleader as we established his IEP, he engaged in a range of services, and he is now thriving in an accelerated classroom. Throughout our experiences at VVLE, the school has been a welcoming and supportive environment that routinely encourages parent engagement. As my 9 year old said this morning over breakfast, "I give them 5 stars!"
