I moved my daughter from a public high school in Dublin to Averroes High School, and I’m so glad I did. At first, she had to adjust since she was used to bigger schools, but the benefits of a smaller school quickly became clear. The teachers are amazing—they focus on critical thinking and have become true mentors to the students. What I love most is how the school emphasizes both academics and spiritual growth, filling in gaps where we as parents sometimes struggle at the age they are at. I find Averroes to be a well-balanced school that truly offers the best of both deen and dunya. It feels like my daughter is getting a solid college prep experience, and growing into a confident young adult. This gives me peace of mind as a parent, knowing she’ll be ready for university.

Averroes high school is truly the best school I have ever been to. The opportunities and people there are absolutely incredible and nobody could be happier. Everyone is always welcomed with open arms and both students and staff make sure everyone is included. The school also has so many amazing trips that are just so much fun! Amusement parks, camping, operas, museums, and much much more. Averroes is like a family and I 100% recommend this amazing high school!

As a concerned student advocate for quality education, I feel compelled to share my honest experience with Averroes High School. My interactions and observations at this institution have led me to a conclusion that is difficult to convey without a sense of disappointment and concern for the students who attend.Let me start by saying that Averroes High School has potential. Situated in a vibrant community with promising facilities, one would expect an environment conducive to learning and growth. However, the reality falls far short of these expectations due to what I can only describe as subpar teaching standards. One of the most critical components of any educational institution is the quality of its teaching staff. Unfortunately, Averroes High School seems to lack in this regard. During my interactions with faculty members, I found a concerning lack of passion, competence, and commitment to student success. It's disheartening to see educators who seem more interested in clocking in and out than in nurturing young minds. Moreover, the curriculum offered at Averroes High School appears outdated and uninspiring. In today's rapidly evolving world, students need to be equipped with relevant knowledge and skills to thrive. However, the curriculum here seems stuck in the past, failing to engage students or prepare them for the challenges of the modern world.Furthermore, the lack of extracurricular activities and opportunities for students to explore their interests outside of the classroom only exacerbates the issue. A well-rounded education encompasses not only academics but also extracurricular pursuits that foster creativity, critical thinking, and personal development. Regrettably, Averroes High School falls short of providing such opportunities. In conclusion, based on my experience and observations, I cannot in good conscience recommend Averroes High School to prospective students and their families. While the school may have potential, its current state of affairs, characterized by subpar teaching standards, outdated curriculum, and limited extracurricular opportunities, hinders the educational journey of its students. As parents and educators, it is our responsibility to ensure that our children receive the best possible education, and unfortunately, Averroes High School does not meet that standard.

My daughter moved from public school to Averroes and couldn't have been happier. The small class size along with attention and care of the teachers and staff made all the difference. The counsellor, teacher and principal sat with my daughter to chart out her journey through high school, setting goals for her and making sure she is appropriately challenged to take on things that will help her shine for Colleges and Universities. I see many other comments here but it seems these comments were from students who either left on their own or were expelled for various reasons. This school is really focused on the whole student transformation, taking care of academics along with their social and emotional needs. I highly recommend this school for anyone looking for wholesome development of their child.

Very poor academic program, especially if you're interested in science and engineering. As a student, you need to go out of your way and take lots of college classes to be a marketable candidate when you apply for a 4-year college. Most Averroes High School alumni joined SJSU or SCU. Some alumni managed to make it into UC or equally good schools; however, most of them spent extra 1-2 years at community college and applied to UC as a transfer student. The community college approach to UC could start earlier without wasting 4 full years and tuition at Averroes High School

I am only giving the school 4 stars because 5 stars would mean there is no room for improvement. And who among us is perfect? We are grateful and blessed to have one AHS graduate, one current student and one waiting in the wings. Nothing about this school is typical, so if you are looking for a cookie cutter, run of the mill school just keep moving. We have been blessed with passionate, teachers, staff and parents who bring their whole selves to this work and it shows. The school and thus classes are small and allows students to be more than just a face in the crowd. We might be small, but we are mighty. For our AHS graduate, the teaching style made the transition to UC Berkeley seamless because at AHS she was taught how to think. There was no memorization and repetition of facts. AHS requires and teaches students how to think critically and it shows when they move on to college. I could go on forever but will leave by saying that sending our children to Averroes High School is one of the best decisions we have made.

Averroes has been a blessing - after searching long and hard for a positive, encouraging, spiritually grounded school environment we came upon Averroes and couldn't be happier. The teachers are second to none, and they pay careful attention to each and every student ensuring a deeply personalized, high-quality education. I feel as though Averroes is preparing our son for his future college career and beyond, and helping to develop him into an intelligent, healthy, and firmly grounded adult.

I learned about myself and the world from my time at Averroes. I learned life lessons that will stay with me throughout my life. They also offer great opportunities to network with people who have changed my life in an amazing way.

As a previous student from Averroes I can’t say how they are now but from my years there I can say there were many issues that I think need to be addressed. Other than the obvious favoritism and unprofessional behavior from teachers. This school was way too over priced. Uniforms were priced very high and needed to be bought from the school for p.e. , Friday formal uniform, and the regular uniform. They would charge us constantly for things that we didn’t need as if tuition wasn’t high enough. Also the curriculum was unorganized and i didn’t learn much if I’m being honest. Lastly they valued the basketball players ability to play more than academics. There were several students that I know who were falling behind but their teachers worried more about if they could play than if they could even understand the topic. They babied them if we want to get real. But to be honest there were also goods to Averroes, like the people I met, the lessons they unintentionally taught me, and the stories I could tell people about my bougie school with no walls and a 3k trip to spain

Averroes is like a home away from home. With my own bad experience in high school because of cultural and religious differences I always felt out of place. My daughter has the opportunity to focus on who she is with confidence at Averroes and not trying to be someone she is not. I am so happy that we have Averroes in our community.

So me and my family decided that I would go to Averroes, opting it over all the other pretty good schools in my district. However, after my time there, it's clear that I made a big mistake attending the school. The lack of academic drive in the institution as a whole made me regret not considering other public/private schools in my area which don't charge university-level tuition fees and uphold a much greater academic standard than Averroes.

It's a small high school that truly cares about the students as individuals. The staff is very dedicated and tries to create opportunities for students to become responsible individuals and free thinkers in this society. How many juniors get to visit the nation's capital and mingle with politicians? How many seniors get to take a trip to Europe to learn about other cultures? Not many huh? My daughter is a senior this year and I couldn't have asked for a better school for her. Grateful to the founders and the staff.
