Summit Montessori falls short in many areas. There are many other schools that offer a better curriculum and a better school environment for the students.

My daughter has attended summit Montessori school for the past 2.5 years. She started in children’s house as a 3 year old and is finishing up her third year at the school. From the moment I stepped into SM I knew this was the right place for us. My daughter started her time here as a social, confident and happy little girl. The wonderful teachers and classmates she’s had throughout her time have not only nurtured the traits she came in with it, but have also helped her to grow in many more ways. She’s learned the values of friendship, she’s learned how to focus on tasks and create a foundation for her academic confidence, she’s learned how to be a kind and compassionate leader, and she’s learned the values of respect, both for her surroundings and for others. The design of a Montessori curriculum is unique. You sense that the moment you step into one of the classrooms. The environment is set up in a way that encourages exploration, self direction and growth. That, combined with the consistency of having the same educators supporting and empowering your child for their entire three year cycle is a gift for their development. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to have our daughter attend Summit. It’s truly a hidden gem in our community.

My children started 2 years ago-1 in children's house as a 1st yr and another in 1st grade in Lower El. It has been a truly wonderful experience and we fully intend to stay through the end of 6th grade. I wish I had a better word, a more articulate word than describing it as easy-I know my children are safe at school, I know their spirit is nurtured, I know they are academically challenged and ahead in most ways and I know we have a wonderful community of parents to surround ourselves with and engage with. It is an exceptional environment to see your children flourish in.

It is amazing. Both my 5 year old and 8 year old love coming to school. They both *want* to read at home. They *want* to continue learning outside of the classroom.

My son started at the age of 3 and will be entering 3rd grade in the fall. The administration and faculty are stellar. There is a true community at Summit and the children benefit from the thoughtful design and methods of Maria Montessori. Yale has been studying the best teaching methods and they have found Maria Montessori was not just ahead of her time but her methods of teaching the whole child is the most effective. My son is a thoughtful, kind interested and interesting student. He is being taught how to think, how to lead, how to live with others.

We love Summit Montessori! My son is currently enrolled at this school and from the moment we first walked into the school, we knew that this was a very special place. The teachers and staff are all highly experienced and great communicators. They truly care for each and every child. I love the individual attention this school is able to provide, and I have watched my son grow in his social skills and confidence as well. I highly recommend this school!

We love Summit. When it came to preschool, we looked 10-15 schools in this area -including a mix or montessori and non-montessori programs. Summit has such a warm and welcoming environment. The teachers are the best. They take the time to understand the children, follow their learning closely, and provide support. The community is diverse and kind. The leadership and administration are engaged with the parents and communicative and helpful. We feel so blessed for Summit to have been the our children's introduction to school, and learning.

I simply love Summit. My son loves it too. We are not "Montessori people", yet I've been won over by the approach and how effective it is for my son. He not only has exceeded his grade's learning goals, but he has a true passion for learning which is invaluable. Final note: We started my son in Beginners as a 2.9 year old. We had been struggling with potty training - but within literally 2 weeks of starting Summit, he was fully potty trained! I gratefully credit the "toddler whisperer" Beginner's teacher. She is amazing!

My two daughters attend Summit, my oldest has been there for five years. I cannot express what a special, wonderful place it is. The quiet, cozy atmosphere really helps create an excellent learning environment and a warm sense of 'home'. More importantly, the unique curriculum takes a Montessori foundation and combines other elements like enhanced reading and math programs for a challenging, engaging, and rewarding education. I am very pleased with the individualized approach to educating my two VERY different daughters, I have seen them grow into mature, polite, eager learners (who read better than any kids I know!)
