I have had 3 children attended this school- all on IEP's for different reasons. My son was diagnosed with ASD in 1st grade and the staff helped me to navigate the difficult process of his IEP. Teachers always responded to my inquiries and did their best to accommodate my son in the best way possible. Now he is thriving in Middle school and I owe a lot of his success to the support he received at Hemenway. My daughter struggled with slow processing and comprehension. The teachers were so patient and always celebrating her successes, big and small. My youngest is now off to Middle School and has had the best experience with all the teachers, specialist and administration. All the teachers are dedicated to ensuring every student is getting what they need to succeed. The new principal has made a seamless transition and I continue to see Hemenway vision carried out every day. I can't say enough good things about it.

Management has such a nice attitude towards the kids and the families however, I can't say the same thing for the teachers. Especially if you are a dual citizen they don't listen to the kids and just punish them. Thankfully, my son went there for 1 year and he is still having trauma attacks. Teachers put him into a liar position when he couldn't express him self clearly. Instead of trying to understand the situation they choose to punish the kids. I have total respect to the Principal however, it's not a good place to start for the education life of a kid.

Could not be happier. The teachers at this school are phenomenal and great to work with. My children are happy and love being at school.

Not so good! Wanted my child to go here so bad... Had excellent reviews and top rated school. Not impressed at all. Thankfully my child has a great teacher! The office staff is so rude...never a hello they will ignore you until you say want you came in for. This has happened on many occasions. Even some of the teachers are not helpful. My child was not where they should have put my child one day for a pick up, so as a parent I went looking for my child... Ran into a teacher and was greeted with a nasty, where are you going? Seriously, not a, can I help you? Hoping my child doesn't pick up on the behavior of the school. Don't let the test scores fool you!

I have had 3 children at Hemenway, one special needs and twins currently enrolled, the teachers and staff go out of their way to know and understand the dynamic of the students and to engage them in enthusiastic learning. My girls love Hem.
