Far better than ever expected. Truly superior educational opportunity if the parent is willing to work with the school and stay attentive

I had no idea how my daughter, who had no Spanish (neither do we as her parents), would fare in her K year at Barbieri. But her transition was seamless, thanks to her loving and skilled K teachers who accommodate every child's different background and pace of learning, and we've never looked back. One thing I love about Barbieri is how understanding the school and community are of families and working parents. At every event--PTO meetings, parent-teacher conferences, information meetings for parents, performances--it's understood that it's totally fine to bring small children along, and there's often free childcare for such events. Supporting the whole family, not just the child who's a student at the school, is definitely part of the culture of Barbieri. If parents do have time to volunteer at the school, that's great (and there's a very active and dedicated group of parents who run clubs, book fair, fundraisers, etc), and new volunteers are warmly welcomed (I've made some great friendships among other Barbieri parents) but there's no pressure whatsoever to contribute if your work schedule doesn't allow. As a working parent, I really appreciate that atmosphere!

The two-way program at Barbieri is amazing. The fact that a public school offers your kid to be truly bilingual is priceless. They learn Spanish and English and are aware of the diversity of our country. It has a really active PTO and all kinds of different events and clubs.

As a parent who doesn't speak Spanish, Barbieri has been an excellent choice for my son. I've been able to follow along and learn a little bit of Spanish myself which has been great. All communications are sent home in English and Spanish so it's easy to stay informed. Barbieri offers so many extracurricular options for its students including a truly spectacular drama club, chess club, lego club, and guest authors and illustrators visit the school each year amongst other creative arts and enrichment programs. There are tons of opportunities to get involved with the school and the PTO and I've found other parents, staff and administration to be open, diverse, friendly and caring.

I am so proud of my daughter learning and reading in Spanish and English fluently. Mi daughter is more confident since joining all the activities that Barbieri offers.

I don't care how fancy a school looks. I care about how children are treated and prepared to be creative, kind, thoughtful, proactive world citizens. I care about how the community comes together when a student is diagnosed with cancer, has a patent on active military duty, or is dealing with challenging personal or family issues. I care about how the teachers and staff are treated and how inclusive and active the PTO is for all parents. I care about how parents and children are respected as individuals with the ability to achieve their dreams. Barbieri is a truly special school. The twoway Spanish immersion program has dramatically enhanced my childrens' lives and we are so thankful to have this awesome resource in our community - less than a mile from our home - and right next to one of the prettiest and safest parks in the state! The Principal is kind, smart, firm, fair, and creative. She knows all of my kids by name and something about each of them, including our oldest who loves speaking Spanish with her so much! The support services, Staff and teachers at the school are OUTSTANDING. A talented/gifted program, on-site before and after school YMCA program, faculty to work with children with developmental delays, ESL students, and more.Having a bilingual focus has given my kids a very special awareness of cultural responsibility, time management skills, and a cognitive ability that will certainly benefit them for the rest of their lives. Plus it's a blast! Our kids were understanding and speaking Spanish as Kindergarteners!Framingham is a choice district and we're lucky that all of the schools are really good. But Barbieri is special. It's a community that we will always remember fondly, and with deep thanks.

Barbieri is a special place. I have three children with different learning styles and personalities thriving within the school. The teachers are dedicated and extremely competent, school leadership is accessible and supportive of both staff and parents, and the two-way immersion program has been all I could hope it would be. My children can read, write and speak in Spanish and English. Barbieri provides an excellent foundation for my children to become well-rounded and productive members of society.

To have this kind of educational opportunity in a public school is really amazing. My daughter is a non-traditional learner with some special needs, and we've received tremendous support from the staff to ensure she succeeds and thrives. My younger child will go to Barbieri next year too - we are very pleased with the school.

My two sons have had a great experience at this school. The multicultural learning environment is wonderful. We love their teachers and more importantly, we love the two principals Mrs. Faber and Dr. Rivet. They are both wonderful leaders who have helped when needed and work terrific with the staff. Mrs. faber has only been there fore a short period of time, but it seems like she has been there forever.

Barbieri is absolutely amazing. Just think -It's Free - your kids will be completely bi-lingual/bi-literate. It's not brain surgery. Put your kids in this school or you'll be sorry when they get older and can't put any skills on their resume. Kids need to know 2 languages. This is a global society. Get with it folks!!!

I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Barbieri. The teachers are hard-working, caring, professional, and intellecutal. My children are 100% bilingual as a result or Barbieri's Two-way program (Spanish and English). What a gift in today's world to have a school like Barbieri.
