Very disappointing and unfortunately now paying a tutor to help my child get back to where she/he was before starting Center.

My daughter transferred into this school at the beginning of the school year. It has been nothing but a nightmare. TWICE she was sent home on a bus unbeknownst to me and left at the bus stop alone. I would've never known had not another concerned parent called me to let me know she was there. She was suppose to be in am after school program. No reprimands were given to the adults who were suppose to be responsible for my child. Another time she was physically assaulted by another student and no reprimands were given to the other student. Nobody in this school holds themselves accountable for the safety if the students even after horrible incidents happen. My daughter hasn't been the only one these things have been happening to. I wish I could transfer her out but it seems like all the rest of the schools on the area are just as bad.

Center elementary school in Fairfield CA went from being a 5 star school to being a 2 star school in my opinion. Here are the reasons:(1) there must be about 50 or 60 students per class;(2) they ran out of food, lunches, (3) the attitude of the staff of the school--the school went from being a "can we help you, the parent, and we'll tell you what we are changing" to mind your own business, we will change the bus route, the classes without telling you or letting you know;(4) the attitude of Transportation we will change the route of your child without telling you or letting you know and you will have to guess when your child will come home (and usually, the child comes home about 45 minutes later;

This school needs work on its values as a while and communication. My daughter has had over 3 inappropriate incidents happen to her since the start of her school year. The things that have happened and been said to my daughter at this school and shocking!!!! I can't beloved that as a parent I don't get too be invoked in knowing how the situations are dealt with. I don't get too have any communication with the other parents. My child is going to school and being involved in things that she should never be exposed to. And when I speak with the principle he says he will deal with it and thats all it get. So I have to make my child be put in a class with a teacher that had no ideas what's going on in her class because their are took many kids in one class with not enough help out. Or the teacher doesn't have the structure to deal with what comes up in the class. I feel bad for my daughter and odd pot in these situations that no kindergarten child should deal with!!!

This is a great school. The Principal is attentive and present. The front office staff and support staff care about families and students. My son has been in kindergarten (2 teachers:18 students!) and first grade at Center and we couldn't be happier. One of his kindergarten teachers has been a teacher for 20+ years and his 1st grade teacher for 15+ years. I have a background in education, so I am a very choosy parent! I love that the school is small and not overcrowded. Students are known by name, not just a face. I wish parking wasn't such a nightmare and there was more parent involvement to help the PTA, but what happens inside the classroom is what counts and it is because of Center that my child is excelling above grade level and also thinks that school is FUN!

Overall I really like the school. However, since the school is no longer on Travis AFB the school is not doing as well as it once was. This has been happening over the past few years. This is the third year it is not on base. They have a lot of new teachers who are fresh out of school which can be a bad thing in some cases. I prefer a school that has seasoned teachers. I do like how the classes sizes are not as big as other schools in the area.
