My kid has been with this school since kindergarten. But with those time she was punched on the chest, her lunchbox was crashed intentionally and got choked that I need to bring her to the Dr to make sure she's fine. Also for this year, there were several alerts of weapons in school but after the investigation of the police they were false information. This means kids are disseminating wrong information without thinking the outcome of their actions. This school used to be a good one, but not anymore. I'm so worried everyday for my child.

My child has gone to this school since kindergarten. He has been bullied, choked out, punched, held down and beaten for many of those years. I have tried to work with the school administration. I have volunteered in the classroom. The teachers try hard to keep everything together but are not supported by the administration. There is no discipline so the children in upper grades feel perfectly comfortable being completely disrespectful, disrupting class, yelling at teachers, throwing things like rocks at the teachers. Teachers are so frustrated they are quitting or simply giving up. It is no longer the school it once was. I would have given a 1 star rating if it weren't for how hard the teachers work for their kids who do want to learn.

Excellent teachers and staff. The comununity at this school it's respectful and they value each student equally. The work really hard with the children to keep their grades scores high. The teachers are caring, knowledge, respectful and they care for their students success.

The first grade teacher seems really nice, but refused volunteering help offered twice through the year and has lack of interest in parent involvement. The principal never responded about an incident of bullying that happened in class even though I requested a direct response. The front office staff did not allow me to see my child throughout the school year always with an excuse, even when I showed up before lunch time at her appropriate schedule and never informed me that I, in fact, can see them by singing them out instead of just turning me down without any suggestions. Per discussion of another nearby school, this should not be the case. Slightly different rules that are, of course, NOT in the regular annual handbook either (possibly in discretion of principal only). Principal is also not involved enough to understand what information the PTO is sending out to parents for future events and are unclear and confusing (even after a confirmed call to the school of an event for the next day). I have prior teaching experience so when a parent wants to be involved, they should be accommodated. Concerns have been discussed with principal.

Personally I love this school. It reminds me of a small town school and the teachers and administrators really care about your child. I love watching my child develop and look forward to going to school. I am happy to say he will be going here for the next few years.

We have now been at Dan O Root for going on 4 years. We love the school, the staff and all the interaction between parents, students and staff!!! `They have many activities and fundraisers through out the year that the children love to participate in. My son is now above average in his studies and is blowing my mind every day with new things he learns!

Awesome school! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise, our test scores will prove it! So much parent involvement, I am so happy here! My child has had three wonderful teachers in a row, you can not ask for more!
