My son came here for the Hi-Cap program in grade 2, but so far all but one teacher has online degrees and lacks experience. He has started biting his nails and thinks school is very boring. Most of the teachers are rude and ineffective and the new principal is also rude and ineffective. His current teacher is sloppy and ill-prepared for her lessons. My son has often remarked how bad she is compared to his third grade teacher and wishes he could have a different teacher. The principal seems like a party girl who takes tons of selfies and self-promoting pics of herself with higher-up staff but doesn't showcase the students. The staff don't respond to questions or concerns and white-wash their behavior when it is undeniably wrong. The district boasts a 94% graduation rate but only 74% of students meet foundational math standards and only 54% are college ready for math according to OSPI data. This just doesn't add up.

My youngest has been attending Forest View since Kindergarten and is now in fourth grade and so far not at all pleased with most of the teachers. His teachers either have been completely noncommunicative with the parents and we have been left clueless about what they are actually learning at school. He never has any homework or brings any completed work back at home. His 3rd-grade teacher was nice but she lacked in keeping the kids engaged in learning. They were doing simple addition and writing in a journal, that's all I can think of that they did that year. Everything seemed to be so easy and boring for him that he completely lost interest and I had to pick up the slack and tried to give him additional work at home for the lack of learning and engagement he was getting at this school. His two older siblings were fortunate to go to a different school, and it was significantly different and better. Every year we hope that he will finally get a good teacher, but unfortunately, we might have another teacher that seems to lack interest in teaching or even bother to respond to parents' email.

My child got moved to this school after boundary change. It was only for the last year of elementary, which is a crucial year to prepare for middle school. In previous school homework was given to children and it was nicely balanced. This school does not give any homework, at all! Mind you, its a 5th grade, so next year is middle school, where there is a lot of homework given to students. My child was not prepared for the huge change at all!Another issue came up with math. My child was not challenged at all. In previous school (Silver Firs Elementary), in 4th grade, kids were going along nicely with the program. After the move to Forest View, in November my student said they were still doing reviews, and my child was bored in math because that was all already done in 4th grade at Silver Firs. We emailed the teacher trying to find out something. She replied that it will end soon. So we gave her a couple of weeks and asked again. Still reviewing! That was just before the winter break. After few emails back and forth, we've contacted the principal. Unfortunately, he was useless, sided with the teacher and told us basically to sit tight and wait. Shortly after school was canceled because of Covid. Everything was moved online. For the first 2 weeks there was nothing from the teacher because she couldn't figure out Zoom. It was a total failure. I wish I had left my kid at Silver Firs where teachers, staff and PTA are amazing. Forest View is a nice newer building, but that's it.

One of the best elementary school in WA, excellent teachers and responsive principal (Mrs. Martinez). My daughter 3rd and 4th grade teachers were awesome, specially Mrs. Reynolds is very caring and a good teacher. My daughter is so happy in this school and excited to start her 5fth grade in Forest View.

This is my son's second year at FV. I think the teachers and principal are top notch, but more importantly, my son loves going to school every day! I'm amazed at how much he is learning, and he's really started to come out of his shell. Mrs. Henderson is a great K teacher, and Mr. Heaton (1st) is just as great. Cannot emphasize enough how happy my son is here.

Forest View is awesome. The staff is excellent, the principal and family advocate both work hard to help serve the needs of their students, and the community is invested. I'm glad this is where my kids go to school.

Totally love this school! We made the switch from out of district and are just so impressed with everything. The teachers and staff are very organized, kind but firm and so far everyone we have met seems to genuinely have a wonderful philosophy of education.
