Eagan high school is not where you should be sending your children. I would rather be in high school in St. Louis or Detroit if that says anything. The students (who are the main problem) are mean and racist, and the teachers don't notice unless I tell them. The school lunch is terrible, and the lack of activities is boring. I heard some white students saying a word they shouldnt say. Probably 94 percent of the school is upper class white people, and the parents do not pay for activities. The students do not care about what they are learning and do not listen to the teachers, and have their phones out in class. There are lots of fights and no one stops them.

This school puts on a good “show.” The teachers largely don’t care and the princpal is not helpful. If you reach out to try and figure out how to help your child especially if they have a learning disability and a 504 Plan, they will never put anything in writing and talk down to parents. Subpar education at best. We moved here from out of state and most of tue science and civics curriculum my child learned in middle school. I expected more from such a “highly ranked school.” My child will not be going back next school year.

I have 2 kids in this school now and we've been impressed at the options open to them if they are willing to engage. There is a fit for everyone, but you might have to reach out and find it. The band program is amazing and yet not all-encompassing that you can't do other extracurriculars too. There are lots of sport options and if you're not into sports, there are literally hundreds of clubs that you could find a niche. The majority of teachers have been excellent. The Athletic Director and Band director are top notch and go above and beyond. You would be hard-pressed to find better anywhere.

As a parent of two kids that are attending Eagan High School, one of which is a stellar student, the other and average student, I will report that Eagan has been a very good high school for both of them. Eagan offers a wide-array of classes, including a lot of AP and honors and does well to offer classes for kids that are not high academic achievers. There are a lot of opportunities with sports and other extra-curricular activities. The teachers that I have met, and that numbers in the dozens are very solid. Every year Eagan gets ranked in the top 3 public high schools in Minnesota and they deserve it. Eagan faculty work hard to allow the kids to achieve to the best of their abilities.

I'm a former student at EHS and about to graduate from the U. I've grown up, been able to comprehend my high school experience and compare it to other places I've lived. I feel like I got an above average education. EHS caters to those who really do well in school. After school programs are solid. There is plenty support for both sports and music. Here s the problem. It's an EXTREMELY hostile environment for students of color. Not so much from the teachers (although there are teachers who seem to keep an eye out for certain students) but the school itself is very segregated. The black kids hang out with the black kids, Hmong with Hmong, etc. Obviously that is not the case for all but students aren't very receptive for those who stray from those lines, probably because there s little diversity in the school to begin with so minorities are already the outsiders. I'm a mixed student of color so I noticed it a lot more than others since I was treated like an outsider. There seemed to be negative connotations associated with the different racial groups. Those feeling transcended across the student body and racial slurs were used quite frequently.

Eagan High School is rated fairly high according the new test scores but it is just a factory with way too many students plus includes the Middle School in the same facility. If you can afford it send your child to a private school with fewer students. If you do send your child to EHS make sure you let the teachers know you care about your child and meet with them as much as possible. Home Schooling kids score better in MN and you can have your child "do" High School via computer with certified teachers free too without sending them off to this giant brick box which just is a processing plant for thousands. Frankly, they just don't care-too many kids being pumped through.(Except for the surface politeness BS for the parents.)

If you are thinking of sending your child there as "the new kid" please don't. This school is designed for either very academically high students or for star athletes. Not meant for the average joe. The students that attend this school are very cliquey. They do not want anything to do with outsiders. You will have to try very hard to make friends in this school. The principal is nice yet he makes students feel less of themselves, which is not very motivational. The school is far too big and you can easily get lost, with no one to help you. There are many extracurricular opportunities for students. The workload plus after school activities can get very stressful. If you go here prepare to have a lot of work on your hands.

Eagan High School has been led by the same administration since it opened 20+ years ago. Time for a new perspective and fresh attitudes. If you're not a superstar athlete, academic, or actor, you're out of luck. The school does not know what to do with average kids. Lots of needless pressure with teachers who don't even recognize that your child is in their class! Too big, too much stress, with outdated ideas about how to manage it all!!! Look elsewhere!!!

Eagan High School is a high school with both stellar students and underachievers. Therefore, it is my belief that it is hard to determine the school as either a great school or otherwise. However, I will confidently state that the school was very draining when it came to the way that the curriculum was structured (the short lunch period doesn't help either.) It is possible to become very successful after attending Eagan High, but I found that success to be at the cost of constant sleepless nights and amounting stress. The school wants it's students to do as much as possible to succeed, and, consequently, I noticed my peers either seemed to give up or overwork themselves. In retrospect, I was never truely happy while attending; it just wasnt right for me.

I think that Eagan is a very mediocre school with bad standards. Their productions are ok, and after school activities are mediocre as well. The offer very less honors classes, making it hard for a student to keep an honors ranking, when compared with students taking 5-6 honors classes every year. In my opinion, between Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, and Eastview, any other school would be better...
