My child attended Oak ridge for one year. I did not feel that there was adequate support for children with very high needs for social emotional support and I felt like it severely impacted my typically developing child’s physical and mental health. After transferring schools my child is doing much better! I think the teachers and staff were kind and really care about the kids but there was simply not enough staff for the level of needs the kids had. My child came home sharing some very shocking stories, language, experiences from interactions with other kids. I was very unsatisfied with how bullying on bus was handled. As much as I liked the outdoor model and the staff at the school I could never recommend this school. It was a constant source of stress for me and my child.

This school can allow a kid to say racial slurs and say its fine while when you retailtate (insult back and report) then you get a suspention for nothing. All it does is take money from the state gives it all to its teachers (9 times out of 10 those teachers are bad) and then crys and asks for money with fundrasers every year as a cash grab that they "use on school supplys' unless your pockets a school supply then no its not.

I have 2 children in this school. My husband also went to this school 22 years ago. The teachers are fantastic and don’t get enough credit. They are trying their hardest given circumstances. My children love going to school everyday. We also love the fact that it’s an environmental school so they learn quite a lot about nature and wildlife.

Very poor, plus they stole things from my child.

I have a kindergartener at Oak Ridge and won't hesitate to send my younger son here when he's K-aged. The school recently converted into a Health Sciences magnet school and there are so many opportunities for extra learning, like robotics and STEM. My son is exposed to a lot of racial and socioeconomic diversity, which we value. He is meeting lots of friends and genuinely enjoys school.

Everyone we have met here has been very gracious. We work with the school janitors, the principal's office and the guidance counselor.

This school is amazing. Great, caring teachers who are focused on curricular challenges, yet they individualize education as much as possible. Lots of great communication between parents and teachers. The new principal is very involved in school activities and seems to love every second of her job. We relocating for a job, and I hate to leave this school. It's a great one!
