    My student came home and told me her teacher rolled her eyes when my student said she hadn’t finished her work because she was visiting her almost dying grandma at the hospital?? #unacceptable

    Over the years, I have learned this school is managed, not led. I hope the new principal will do better by our students.

    We open enrolled at Deerwood and couldn't be happier. We LOVE the teachers, specialists, admin staff, and the principal. The school has a GT specialist and a behavior specialist. The art teacher is amazing, the kids do incredible art projects. I cannot think of anything negative or bad to say, the school should be rated 10 points!!!

    Deerwood is a wonderful place to learn. The staff is fantastic and really tailors to each student. The Principal is one of the very best, he is so involved and makes a point to know the families and truly cares for each student. They are wonderful about accommodations. The class sizes are small and they have wonderful special education and gifted and talented.

    This is our first year at Deerwood and we love it. Our daughter actually comes home and talks about what she learns. The teaching staff and principal are caring individuals that are genuinely concerned about the well-being of our child. I can't say enough great things about this school.

    Headed by Principal Miles Haugen, Deerwood Elementary School has wonderful teachers, parents and children! We love our school!
