We have two daughters who attend Little River. One is receiving speech services there (and has since she became eligible at 3). We looked at all of the different school options before starting there and actually got into one of the magnet schools. However, we decided to stay with our "neighborhood school," and we are so glad we did. Our experience has been extremely positive, from the quality of staff and teachers to logistics and communication. We also wanted an environment that brought together all different kinds of students and families, and Little River really does. Our girls are very different and each one is being well served academically and both are definitely being cared for -- it is truly a supportive and caring environment. The assistant principal and his daughter even started a fun and thoughtful Youtube show to keep the students engaged during the pandemic (and we are so happy it is continuing). The staff and teachers always seem to go above and beyond their call of duty. We feel that there are many great options in DPS, and Little River is definitely one of them!

I was so disappointed when schools closed due to COVID. My son and I loved each and everyday he was at school. They go and still do go above and beyond to engage the kids of all ages. Give bday shoutouts and fun lessons. They make each kid, K-8, feel special and loved. I love LR, hands down!

We love Little River! The teachers and administration are warm, caring and effective at what they do. Not only are my children (5th and 8th grade) receiving a high quality education, they truly feel cared for as do parents. We will not be going elsewhere and are so grateful for this school.

I came to Little River K-12 with high hopes and average expectations. Unfortunately I will be leaving and seeking charter or home schooling after working in the Public School System now for 30 years the failures to truly educate are leaving our great educational systems for Political bias and indoctrination of minds. There are answers to correct the course of this school and others however I see no path available for our future leaders of this Nation in the NC Public School Schools.

Love this school. I went to this school as a child and now my kids are also going there. Some of the amazing teachers I had are still there today. They obviously love what they do and love the school as well. And now that the school will be K-8 I won't have to worry about sending my kids to an awful middle school like Carrington.

I have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader at Little River. We have been thrilled with the school and have kept our kids here instead of going to private, charter, or magnet schools. The teachers are outstanding. I can't say enough good things about their commitment to teaching, to meeting every child's learning needs, and going above and beyond to care for their students. My son's teachers have visited him in the hospital, and they have contributed their own money to provide scholarships for low-income kids to participate in field trips. I have volunteered in the classrooms and seen first-hand how amazing these teachers are in motivating students to want to learn. The school is orderly and calm, and parents are involved. I highly recommend Little River Elementary.

I love this school! The teachers are really great, and the AIG program is the best.

As a parent of 2 students at LITTLE RIVER for the past 5 years, I am impressed EVERY DAY with the Teachers, the Principals, the Administration, and the Students. This is an outstanding school with Teachers who truly care about the education they are providing to their students, and the students, in turn, appreciate and respect the education they are receiving.
