This school is closed. Great schools.org needs to do a better job of updating their information

Welch would be a great school as long as your child does not have any learning disabilities or special needs. Unfortunately, the teachers are quick to label your child before they even get to know them and make sure to tell all of the other teachers. You know this because when you introduce yourself to other teachers they say things like, "Oh, yoouur ****** parents." These are teachers from other grades. I am not sure why people become teachers and can have such animosity toward children who are as young as 5 years old. Also, when your child says how derogatory the teacher has been and how they have been embarrassed in front of their classmates, the principle is quick to side with the teachers. Basically, she is telling us our child is lying and that her teachers are well qualified and love their students. Education should be a positive experience at a young and impressionable age. A 7 yr old shouldn't dread going to school (started in kindergarten)!! Everyone is different. I know teachers have a difficult job but they know what they will be doing before they go to school. If it's too tough then move on and don't take it out on the children!! Work with us, not against us!
