Pierce is truly an underrated gem among schools. The educators are exceptionally engaging, and my daughter has consistently appreciated the support and inspiration they provide. The school offers a wealth of events and extracurricular activities that keep students both engaged and involved. I wholeheartedly recommend Pierce, as it has afforded my daughter an excellent education, resulting in her reading three grades above her baseline and achieving outstanding scores on state assessments. I have a deep admiration for Pierce!

An amazing school with great teachers, dedicated parents, diverse and inclusive community and lots of extracurricular events that are organized by the school and parents. I would highly recommend this school and feel that the great school rating is not accurate to the schools true performance.

Excellent leaders, teachers, and staff who work together to foster an equitable and inclusive learning environment and serve a diverse student body. Collaborates with external partners to provide wonderful theatre and arts enrichment to supplement CPS programming.

Peirce is a wonderful school community. The leadership is great. The parent organizations are strong and active. The teachers are committed and go out of their way to give children special experiences. An example is After School All Stars. This is an extensive after-school program that is free to kids, organized by our amazing music teacher, and funded, I think, through a community grant. Activities include Bollywood dance, chess, drama club, sports, art, music, yoga, and many more. My friends at other schools are jealous.

We've had a fantastic experience in Kinder here! My daughters teacher, support staff and specials teachers are all equally amazing. My daughter LOVES school, which is not the same experience with had in preK elsewhere. She is happy, confident and adores all her teachers and support staff. With feeling supported, loved and safe learning has come so easily. She had completely blossomed from a painfully shy child into an independent and outgoing go-getter and I really attribute that to the IB PYP learning model.

Fantastic! I've had my son there for nearly 8 full years and it has been an excellent experience for him. He has friends all over the neighborhood too. He has always looked forward to going to school there.

My daughter loves her kindergarten teacher (Ms. Fabs) and is very engaged and excited by school. Spring Break was a drag--she couldn't wait to get back to school. The school holds many events that help get families involved and has significant support from both households and businesses in the neighborhood. Also, teachers and school are quick to respond to questions and concerns. Finally, I'm excited to see how the IB curriculum expands in future years- love the philosophy of the IB Learner Profile.

We moved to this neighborhood to be able to send our children to Peirce. We considered sending them to a private school, but I wanted them to experience more diversity than they would find in an a private school. Even though the majority of students qualify for free lunches, the school itself provides an excellent education. I have a first grader there now, and I helped tutor my neighbor's daughter when she was in fifth grade. The teachers are skilled and kind, the parents are organized and enthusiastic, and the administration is wonderful at keeping everyone informed. They have special events such as the "Move-a-thon", which was called a walk a thon until they realized not all the students could walk. I love that they came up with a creative solution that was inclusive and fun.I met some amazing parents at the playground during after school pick up, and I can't imagine sending my children anywhere else. I come from a long line of college graduates, and I firmly believe Peirce is giving my children the foundation to continue that legacy.

We have had an excellent experience at Peirce Elementary School! Some things that have not recently been highlighted:-the current administration is extremely responsive and helpful -the school is now an IB school from pre-k through eighth grade-there are awesome art partnerships at all grades-there is strong parent involvement -Peirce is very rooted in the community and has many local partners-students have a wide array of after-school optionsWe love being Peirce Panthers!

We have had our children at Peirce for 3 years now, and it seems like every year our kids get the PERFECT teacher to help them from where they are currently at. The community and parents are very involved, and the new principal attends every single event. The neighborhood is beautiful, the campus is very nice, and the afterschool programming provided by the Lakeview YMCA is also very nice, with great counselors and supervision.

This is our first year and Peirce and everything has been topnotch. Great teachers, classmates and open learning. My kids love it way more than the private preschool they attended last year. The school is diverse, and the parents are very involved. It's also a large, beautiful school with open, bright classrooms -- rather unusual in the city. My kids' kindergarten room is up for historical status due to a series of beautiful mural panels from the 1920s. Although my kids were fortunate enough to lottery into a few schools, some with better scores, Peirce felt less crowded and sunnier than the rest...a better environment for learning.

We have been very happy with the environment and education that Peirce has provided our 2 kids. We wanted to send our kids to a school where they would experience the world as it is: diverse in every way, but full of opportunity and resources. There is a very involved and passionate parent community and we have found the teachers to be great and responsive to input and involvement. The resources available at Peirce are amazing (technology, Science Lab, Art, Music, Language, etc.). The recent incident attributed to bullying is tragic, but it does not represent Peirce as a whole or represent a systemic issue with bullying. Many things have been done and are being done to combat this and other issues. Give Peirce a look. You won't be disappointed!
