I think the low rating of this school is wrong on so many levels. My daughter is thriving here. She has developed a real love for math & science. After struggling a little with reading but having great teachers encouraging her, she is now reading with gusto. Her teachers have made learning so much fun and she can't wait to get back to school after breaks. The CARY (collaborative, achieving, respectful, year-round leaders) mantra is truly integrated into learning. My daughter loves telling me how she can "Be like Cary!"(the chameleon mascot) and has become much more helpful and respectful at home too.The principal is a bit saccharin and fake for my taste but the teachers are amazing. The teachers deserve every kudo and the school should be ranked higher. My daughter had a minor issue with some food teasing due to her food allergies. The teacher quickly and effectively put an end to it by talking to the kids about food allergies and using it as a learning opportunity rather than just telling them to stop. Bullying stopped immediately

I think the 5 rating of this school is a travesty. The test scores are great. More importantly, they foster a love of learning. We are extremely happy here

Principal is horrendous and just a complete waste of time for real issues. We've had a mixed bag with the teachers but you can tell who are the ones that should be moved out as more students are filtered to the school. Lazy, ineffective, kindergarten teachers.

We love the community feel and personable approach of this school. The principals know the students by name.

Overall, I would say that if it wasn't for a couple of amazing teachers that we've had, I would have taken my child out of this school already.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this school. The principal is not approachable and is not transparent out of concern that it will portray a negative image of the school. Teachers are not given the opportunity to grow, which then has an affect on students.

We have had a great experience with this schools. Our kids have been to other schools before as well. The quality of teachers and individual attentions give to our two kids have been phenomenal. Both our kids have flourished academically and socially at this school.

Hi We came from India on July-16 . My son is 5.5 years old. We were very afraid about the new environment for him. But he adapted within a day. The principal & school teachers are very friendly. They are providing very good education.

When Cedar Fork failed, Carpenter excelled. I like the administration at this school, especially the Principal and Vice-Principal. They are both incredibly approachable and caring.

Schools are not perfect places. The Vice Principal at Carpenter along with the teachers and office staff are extremely caring. When problems arise they will communicate and genuinely care to solve it. I feel great knowing that my son goes to school where they care about him as well as his development.

We have been thrilled with our experience at Carpenter. My son's teacher really cares and I've seen her work through lunch to provide a quality experience for the students. My kindergartener is reading, writing, doing math and writing computer code. We have also been pleased with the diversity and how the teacher has encouraged mutually respectful relationships with all the students.

This school has a lot of young teachers as all the old/experience teachers have left for other schools. And it's true that some teachers are being prejudice on minority students no matter how hard the minority student work. Minority students are being picked base on their skin color not their outstanding work in anyway they can. Reading too much bad news on the internet have made a great influence on these teacher's judgement on these minority kids. Minority living in America, paying high tax like everyone else, support the government, contribute good work to the society, but still not get the same treatment as other white kids at school.

I'm not happy with the lack of respect for minorities. Its harder for them to get equal grades at this school. Teachers judge minority students as being worse then other students. Then, when a minority student talks even though other students are talking, the minority students gets into trouble, not the other students. This has happened to us on more than one occasion. In addition, there is favoritism and usually happens with the white rich children. The parents of these children get notices about current events and get photos sent home. Parents of minority students do not have this same treatment. Discrimination still happening, just quieter with no accountability.
