This school is one of the few in the area that is not overcrowded and capped, or maxed out at 100% capacity. The student/teacher ratio is fantastic. I know my kids are getting the attention they need from their teachers. And the carpool line is almost always short! Additionally, the teachers and staff at this school are incredibly supportive and work with kids from where they are at. My daughter has received CCR pull-out and other services under her IEP to meet her needs, while my son has thrived in AIG pull-out for Math and EL.I highly recommend this school!

My four children love this school. The teachers and staff are so kind and engaging, and I love hearing them greet my kids as I drop them off every day. They have a nice stage, where the music teacher puts on elaborate musicals with amazing costumes and sets every year. Fourth and Fifth graders can be in this play and practice all year for it, along with concerts. They also have a yearbook club run by the art teacher. Fifth graders join yearbook and take pictures of kids in the school and help design the yearbook. They also have a fantastic Girls on the Run program after school for 3rd-5th graders. Fall festival, movie nights, field day, there are so many enriching experiences in addition to the fabulous teachers. My kids have enjoyed all of these enriching activities, and they have loved all of their teachers. The teachers there really care and are genuinely invested in all the children. The CCR teacher and speech therapist were fantastic for my daughter who has an IEP and special needs. We also love the year-round schedule. We went to Highcroft Elementary for a few years before switching here, and I am so thankful because I have loved this school and the year-round vacation schedule.

We recently switched to this school from Apex Elementary. There is definitely more competition/challenge here for the kids to excel. The school environment is neat and beautiful. Teachers and staff are nice. There are lot of family activiteis to get involved in. Overall, highly recommend this school.

This school is too crowded and as such communication with the administration is spotty at best. They couldn't meet the needs of my children, they didn't listen, they didn't have the correct resources and after a short period of time we decided not to send our kids back in the fall.

Turner Creek Virtual Academy is superb. The homework assignments are fun, interactive and challenging. The assignment instructions are easy to follow and well thought out. Virtual PE classes allow kids to interact in an exciting environment through nifty dance moves, dodging virtual snowballs, and just a blast. However, excelling in this environment requires attentiveness, hard work, and dedication from both the student’s guardian and the student. The amount of daily homework can be quite intense at times, even in kindergarten.

The staff and students at Turner Creek work hard to create a welcoming learning environment. The students are excited to be there!

Turner creek elementary is a hidden gem with great teachers and very welcoming administrative staff. It has wonderful teachers who makes my child's learning very exciting. Teachers pay close attention to individual child , the reason being - it is not overcrowded like some other schools.

This is a very good school, the overall commitment of most of the staff by far is excellent. Can the school improve of course, but it is a great foundation with some wonderful programs. Is it little ivy league land I don't know but I will say Thank You to all the wonderful people at this very fine school!

I absolutely LOVE this school. From the front door, and entering the office, I am always greeted with a smiling face. My child has been there for 4 years in this school. The teachers are always smiling, and appear to enjoy their job. I TOTALLY disagree that the previous post said these teachers appear "to be bored and not make learning fun". I talk with them and they definitely love their job. The school does a great job at communicating all that is going on through many ways. The Principal may not be what others believe the last one was in the way of cozy, but she is a great leader for our children's teachers. Not every 'changing of the guards" is always what the previous has been, & I, personally, don't expect the exact same from someone different. I respect the difference in people and love the vision Lisa has for this school. I've seen her on many occasions at the front door welcoming the kids in the morning. I volunteer in the school regularly and see the product of a loving faculty at Turner Creek Elementary. The PTA has some great events, programs and fundraising done at the school to give our kids what they need to stay up to date. Keep up the great work to ALL!!!

This school is awesome! You walk in the front door and you feel the love! The front office staff greets you with a smile. Teachers always smile in the hallway and have positive things to stay. The student work in the hallways reflects relevant learning. The teachers are great! My three sons started when the school opened and I am on my last son and all teachers have been hard working, dedicated, and focused on learning, making a positive experience for us all!

TCE has lost its way. I agree with the previous post whole-heartedly. It has gone downhill since the previous principal left. My children have been at this school since it opened. We used to see Mrs. Hargrove every day, before or after school. I have seen Mrs. Spalding two times in the past 2 years. With the exception of one fantastic Kindergarten teacher, every (yes, I said every) teacher we have had there seem to be bored with their jobs and don't care about making learning 'fun' for the kids. I don't expect my kids to be entertained all day long, but it sure would be nice if these teachers would get some spring back in their steps. My youngest dreads going there everyday. We are so disappointed and unenchanted with this once great school, we are thinking about requesting a transfer. Sad.

The school has gone downhill ever since Jan Hargrove left. My children have attended since the school first opened. Mrs. Hargrove was incredible and made TCE what it was. A few years ago she left and the school has changed for the worst. To be fair, we gave the new principal one year. It was horrible. The new teachers that she brought with her should not be teaching. We complained and never got results. You never see the principal and my children went from loving TCE to disliking it.

I wish we had our previous Principal back. Not impressed with the direction the school has taken since she left. Test scores down, never seen Principal. When she is seen she is giving her stellar admin staff a hard time.

I check and speak with my kids about their school and schoolwork. From what I have seen, the materials taught is either one or two grades below what it should be. I understand some kids take time to catch up but this is not the way. Also, this hinders the students who can move ahead. Maybe they can start a gifted program or some sort. Also, it does not seem like they have much homework either. It is hard for me to assess their level when nothing comes home besides a vague progress report.

Although I don't have a lot of time to get more involved in activities at the school I know a lot of other parents do. I have met the teachers for my third grader and Kindegartener and they both impressed me as being dedicated and involved teachers. There are many opportunities to volunteer at the school and to get involved with what's going on there. I am impressed with the school and would recommend it to other parents who want a quality school, great teachers, and an involved community.
