Our overall experience with Hopewell has been very positive. We have seen our son grow exponentially during the last school year and we are really looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year. Coming from a large public school with a ratio of 33:1 we have a great appreciation for the small class size. We also enjoy the sports that are offered and the after school clubs. My son no longer dreads school, and we know he is receiving an education that will truly benefit him for years to come. Great teachers, great communication and a wonderful learning environment!

The school has fallen apart this year. The absence of leadership, so many rumors about what is really going on with this school makes it future suspicious. We are leaving. It has been a disruptive and chaotic year. We would not recommend this school to anyone, especially if it is being led by Randy Taylor.

NC is known for having great higher learning, but when it comes to education for you children the state fails. As a parent who has plans for my child to be college bound, I have been extremely happy Hopewell Academy, they are a school for 6-12th grade. The school has small class sizes, they teach to your child’s level and the environment encourages success! The teachers and staff are top notch and the students are all supportive of each other. The school lacks the clicks that most schools do, which really allow the kids to accept and support diversity. It’s very affordable and a true investment in your child’s future. I highly recommend checking out one of the open houses they have.

Poorly. My daughter had to be tutored in order to catch up in mathematics so that she could be successful in a public school. I had been under the impression that private schools were generally more advanced than private. Boy, was I wrong.

Hopewell Academy has changed greatly for the better this yer. There is a new principal in place who has years of experience with the Wake County School System as principal and vice principal. He is so excited about being able to grow this school and to serve the patents and students in whatever way is needed.. Ignore all the negative comment from before this comment.. A lot has changed and will change. Several new teachers have been added to the well qualified teachers already there. You will like what you find at this school particularly for the child who needs a lot of "HANDS ON" help. The students seem to get along well with each other given the diversity of the backgrounds. There is a sports director/health teacher and an English is a second language teacher. He also teaches Spanish. This school provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. I have been made to feel very welcome in the school when I stop by. The teachers seem to care very much about the children and the school. Hopewell Academy has acquired a new building in North Cary which is being remodeled and up fitted for a larger school. to open next year(2017).

More people need to know Hopewell Academy is truly a great school. My son joined Hopewell after a difficult journey in previous schools, and very quickly his anxieties were put to rest, he is excited about school (gets there early every day), and is now getting A's and B's, and is energized to make them all A's. So proud of his achievements, and so grateful that the teachers know exactly how to connect with students, and very importantly, not just teach them to just pass tests. All the lessons are taught in an applied way, enabling students to see the context and application of what they are learning and giving them greatly needed critical thinking and complex problem solving skills.

I have tried many schools and school systems over the years with mixed results. At Hopewell they have the most talented group of teachers I have ever seen in one place. The school system also allows the teachers to be very dynamic and personalized in their teaching approach. I am also delighted with the atmosphere of the school campus as the students are respectful and compassionate with each other. I could not be more pleased!

As a parent of a child with special needs and anxiety, I looked long and hard before enrolling my child in a school. On paper, this school appeared to offer what I was looking for. We were extremely disappointed in Hopewell. The head of the school is not interested in the welfare of the students. There are a few very good teachers, but others have no idea how to teach a child with special needs. Do not be fooled into thinking your child is the top priority at this school. Believe me. Take this from a parent who loves her child and wants her to have the best education possible, in a safe and caring environment. Parents and teachers walk around in fear of the head of the school. I don't want my child in a school like this. It is a real shame because this school is supposed to help the most vulnerable of children.

Our child attended Hopewell Academy for 3 years. During that time our routine went from not wanting to go to school to going and participating not only during school but in after school activities. We found the teachers to be experienced and to take a personal interest in us. Class room size was kept small enough that individual attention could be incorporated to ensure understanding of subject matter. As a parent we go involved and still have what are life long friends as part of the Hopewell experience.

Hopewell Academy has been an excellent experience for our student. The teachers are outstanding and go out of their way to help the students. The founder of the school and dean are dedicated to the students and providing a challenging academic environment. The High school students have been given opportunities to visit area colleges, tour local companies, and have worked on projects such as improving the outdoor areas of the school. Our student has been able to participate in many sports teams over the years and enjoyed electives like art, yearbook and photography. We are thankful to have chosen Hopewell Academy 5 years ago. It was the best choice for our student who loves school and is thriving there.

I graduated from Hopewell Academy and would like to say the the staff and founder of the school will give you more opportunities than anywhere else. The career path that I chose was in the auto industry and at the beginning of the second quarter of my junior year a teacher helped me gain a Tuesday and Thursday internship at Atlantic Tire Co. and that did nothing but help me down the road. It's a great atmosphere to be in and the teaching styles have suited many kids that have gone through that school. I started in eighth grade and finished my senior year there. I can guarantee that a child can make it through that school without being "simply moved ahead" or "bullied" as I have seen in the other reviews. Not once was I bullied or moved on to a higher grade. You face the same academic challenge at this school the same as any other except for the fact that there are smaller classrooms and if needed a student can receive personal attention whether they have trouble figuring out a math problem to figuring out how to improve a jump shot on the basketball court. Once you become a student there you become part of a small community of friends. I would recommend this school to anyone.

I posted an honest review previously, but the truth hurt too many feelings; therefore, I am replacing it with this review.

As a parent I am very happy to see how my high school student has been excelling both academically and socially at Hopewell. A smaller school has given him the opportunity to shine.

Hopewell is a great school! Besides the fact of bullying. The teachers are well qualified, and very professional. The only problem is bullying. The school does NOTHING. I would do your research on this school before coming here. I would recommend this school, but STAY ALERT FOR BULLYING!!!!

My family and I are glad we enrolled in Hopewell. Hopewell Academy has lived up to our expectations in every way. Our daughter is safe, happily engaged in challenging high school classes, and planning for her college visits this year with the school counselor. Like the rest of her classmates she scored 3 years above grade level on her Iowa Tests and scored above average on her PSAT and SATs. With high number of returning students and faculty members and a rock solid principal, Hopewell is clearly moving forward. Everyone is glad that several families and their children did not return. Those children and their parents will not be missed.

This school is outstanding!!!! I have seen my son go from a student with anxiety who school was a nightmare for, to a confident student with a love of going to school. Seeing his grades just keep improving every semester is amazing. His confidence and peace is what all parents want. The teachers are outstanding. They personalize the learning to each student's needs and are totally focused on every student being successful. For the first time for me, this is a true partnership between a school and parents to make our child be the best he can be. I spent years being fobbed off by schools because my child's learning style does not conform to the very narrow definition used today. This is how all children should be taught - because we all learn differently. The smaller teacher to student ratio is a blessing. I encourage parents looking for a better school to go visit and see for themselves.

Hopewell is an incredible school and our son is so happy there. We were in a local WCPSS school where his needs were not being met from an administration who was not accommodating and with a teacher who did not try to understand how our son learned best, only telling us what he couldn't do. At Hopewell, they care, listen to any concerns, and truly try to help you. You are not fighting for people to help your children, they want to help you, and try to understand how your child learns best. If modifications are needed, whether to enrich a child who needs more advanced classes, or assistance if a child is struggling, they do it, and are happy to do it.. The caring and nurturing is gone in most schools, and if a child learns differently, or needs something different, that child is made to feel that they don't "measure up." At Hopewell, they are getting an outstanding education, WITH the nurturing, and they genuinely care about your child. If you speak to the Dean, he stops and always listens to you, and always follows up and does what he promises. Hopewell is a family, a collaborative effort where everyone works together to help your child. That is the way it is supposed to be!

Much stronger start to the school year. Expectations have been raised and new staff is wonderful. Truly impressed so far. Dean is open minded and willing to listen to suggestions. Teachers willing to assist our child in all areas. Wonderful school.

Advertises inconsistently on a number of websites. Very small number of students with some grades not represented at all. Large turnover. Would caution anyone after our experience with the past year.
