Great school and family loves our move here and teachers great. Highly recommend.

One of the better elementary schools in Cary. School staff is very transparent and highly communicative. Strong support from the PTA and fellow parents in general. Could be a little more diverse in the student population but after two years haven’t had any issues. Highly recommend!

Amazing school with excellent admin and PTA COORDINATION. that brings lot of excitement & encouragement in kids at all level. Kids learn new skills, presentation skills and leadership. Principal, Asst Principals & teachers always available to listen and take required steps to further improve My 2nd grader is always motivated and getting better all around in studies and extra curricular

Both of my daughters attended Alston Ridge Elementary for two and four years before our base school changed to a newly built school close to our home. We were very pleased with the education they received there. Principal Caswell is a highly effective leader, the school culture is positive and the teachers our girls had were always strong. Friends of our that have children with special needs gave the school high praise. A wonderful school for bright kids!

I don't recommend this school if your kid need attention and time. The teachers bully parents via classdojo. And demand explanations via the app. So be aware. Nothing special about this school, it is like any other normal school.

I am so pleased with my daughter's kindergarten teacher. She has been amazing! Great communication with us whenever there was a problem.

This is a great school. My daughter is enjoying her 3rd grade. I do feel they give less homework. But I do see they cover most of the stuff in class itself.

We moved here mid-year and communication is non existent. We had no idea our child had fallen behind bc the teacher did not bother to let her know, work with her, or tell us. Work never came home and he just continued on. We finally saw work at the mid marking period point that was sent home in a huge stack and we questioned it. Everything on the parents even though the teachers are the ones in the classroom with them all day! Things still aren't being worked on, only excuses from the teacher who doesn't seem to care. But he also wont tell me what she needs to work on so I can help her/ get a tutor, etc. Everything is vague. No one tells new parents anything (we have multiple kids, luckily the others aren't doing as bad but they are younger) and you have to guess and search for everything. This school has been an utter disappointment to put it mildly.

My daughter came from another state with 3 months left of kindergarten. The staff made us feel very welcome. She has learned so much in the last few months. Alston Ridge gets an A+ from our family. We couldn't be happier with the diversity and attention our child has received. This school is definitely ahead of our previous school in what they are teaching and the style in which they teach. Very impressed.!

I felt like the didn't care about my student. When I was frustrated and reached out to talk on behalf of this I was met with much difficulty and disregard at our issues at hand.

This school is excellent now that the principal has retired. She was very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. I can't express how happy I was once I heard she was retiring. I feel bad for the teachers that had to put up with her. I do love my daughter's teacher she is amazing! The school in general is very nice. 4 stars but only because someone hired that horrible principal.

Amazing school that is now only going to get even better with new administration. The teachers, VP, PTA are amazing.

This school has been the worst school by far for leadership and communication. We have not been happy with the rude responses we've received from the principal. The teachers are great but it seems that they are just as frustrated as we have been.

New to this area and being a parent of our first kindergarten child. I love this school The growth I have seen since she has started is wonderful. She's sounding out letters and trying to read. She's talks about students in her class as her friends and I can tell she loves the environment The green folder idea works well. I get to see everything she brings home and all her writing and artwork. We really enjoy all the people we have come into contact with from before school care to the office staff

Diversity, a satisfying mix of ideas, cultures, races, genders, economic statuses and other characteristics necessary for promoting growth and learning among a group. Having variety in religious, racial, cultural, and geographic backgrounds as well as experiences, beliefs, and world view is great. When I read the race page on this site it lead me to think the school was a lot of White people. But I found out that people from India are WHITE. They make up 1/2 the schools population. A great mix of diversity.

I have the opportunity to witness first hand what is important to school environments that are successful. I am blessed to have found Alston Ridge Elementary. The administration is the most caring to teachers and students. Even with the number of students we have, the administration knows most the students by name. Students' achievements are announced and celebrations are held quite often to involve parents. Expectations for Teachers are high, but that is what any employer should expect if they want a well run, successful business. Schools' business is educating children for the future. This dedicated staff works hard to make our children enjoy learning. High expectations is what is needed to be a success and I am proud to be an ARES Gator and part of this family.

enrollment is 1000 + and capped-crowded! There are 10 kindergarten classes now. Teacher retention is not great.
