Don't let the "score" of the school fool you - this school is a community and a lovely place. The principal is outstanding and the communication is phenomenal. We were at a "highly rated" elementary school in the district before coming here and while we did not have issues there either, Parkwood has been stood out as a much more welcoming and personal space than our previous elementary school. We've had quick action when any concerns or help has been needed and my child is happy and thriving. What more can you ask for. The grounds are also quite pretty and I see nothing but good things for Parkwood in the future.

We have been very happy with Parkwood Elementary. The teachers do a great job working with students who are academically at different levels. The teachers clearly love the kids. We highly recommend this school and wish more families were willing to send their kids to this great neighborhood school!

We have an awesome experience with the school. My son loves going there and feels good about learning new things, teachers and colleagues. Teachers are exceptionally caring and respectful. They are really amazing! My son is in 4th grade and goes there since kindergarten. I think teaching a kid to love learning is the best investment into his/her bright future. This school does it well.

My daughter is in 5th grade and has gone to Parkwood since 1st grade. She had done wonderfully and loves it there. Ms. Sandiford is tough but gives the children an excellent education.

This school is terrible. When you have a problem the principal doesn't want to communicate with you. The teachers and principal allow bullying. The teachers do not contact you if they you child has a need. My child broke his arm and his third grade teacher didn't even want to help him take his chair off the table. I has to contact the school board just to meet with the principal. I would not recommend this school at all.

I am surprisingly pleased with Parkwood. My son is in Kindergarten. He is struggling. My son has special needs and the genuine care and concern by his teachers and therapists is wonderful. They communicate VERY well with me and often point out issues and suggest strategies for improvement. They are open to my suggestions as well. They want him to succeed.
