We've had two children attend Forest Dale, and our experience has been nothing short of fantastic! Our kids absolutely love the school and have made many wonderful friends. They are not only learning a great deal but are also progressing beautifully in their studies. The staff at Forest Dale is incredible—so caring, dedicated, and always going the extra mile to support the students. There's also a strong sense of community, with many parents actively involved in school activities. As a regular volunteer, I've witnessed firsthand the genuine care and commitment of the staff. We feel incredibly fortunate that our children get to be part of such an amazing school community at Forest Dale!

Avoid this school if you are a person of color, mixed or an out-of-state transplant. Avoid Carmel as well. It feels like going back in time. Racism and bullying are terrible and not handled properly. Incidents are frequent. Microagressions are not only tolerated, but normalized. They protect their own. Students and teachers use foul language in the classroom. As a result of this environment, students' grades suffer and they are miserable. It all comes down to leadership. Or a lack thereof. Common values such as respect, kindness, curiosity, community, tolerance and respecting differences do not exist here. Staff and students are very cliquish. Teachers only teach to the test. Students do not learn what they need to become successful, independent thinkers. There is more to a school than it's rating. This school district is overrated and you can find much better programs in other school districts or private/magnet schools. There are also much nicer places to live outside of Carmel.

This is our 3rd year at Forest Dale and I have been so impressed with the teachers each year. My son is thriving in school and loves his teachers and loves his school. The teachers are communicative and really work with a spirit of cooperation with the parents so that your child is supported both at home and at school. I believe the amount of homework is appropriate for the age. I know my son is treated with kindness, but proper expectations are also set at school. I am very pleased thus far with our experience here.

Forest Dale is an excellent school and has been a wonderful place of learning and development for my kids. The teachers are passionate about what they do and take a personal interest in helping each child to succeed.
