This school has taught me well. I took about 20 AP classes and was top of my class. This school taught me excellence and how to grow as a person. My 4 years at Brandon have been terrific and I would do it all again if I could. I'm currently in my freshmen year of college, and I couldn't take Brandon enough for the preparation they've provided me! Let's go Eagles !

I was a student here for 4 years, this school failed me as a student. I succeeded in almost every way I could've- I was an honor roll student all 4 years, I took AP courses, I was a varsity athlete, I was involved in multiple clubs and programs, I even wanted to start my own club dedicated to making the school a better place and helping to renovate some parts of it. The administration is simply unsupportive of clubs and students. They failed to communicate very helpful scholarships and courses that would have saved me thousands in college tuition. I didn't know dual enrollment was an option for me at all until my late junior year (I took dual enrollment my senior year immediately after finding this information) costing me even more money I could've saved for college. My guidance counselor ADVISED ME INCORRECTLY ON A SCHOLARSHIP, the Bright Futures Scholarship to be exact, where I qualified for almost 100% coverage before graduating and was riding on solely for my college education. This misinformation COST ME THE SCHOLARSHIP and has dramatically changed my life. I did many things to help this school and they failed me as a student. All of this is without mention to my older brother, who they also dismissed and treated poorly in his four years at this school despite him having a social disability. Beware the administration and guidance counselors- they do NOT care about you or your student.

Half of the staff (especially the counselors) don't care/consider anything. The school feels unsafe mainly because there are terrible students attending and I wonder how they are still able to attend. They are extremely strict on bathrooms only allowing you to go in certain time restraints. It wasn't like this before but it seems liker after every year things get worse and worse.

You get from your student’s education what you put into your students education. The numbers don’t tell the whole story about BHS.

THE WORST PRINCIPLE AND APC IN THE DISTRICT. THE STUDENTS DESERVE BETTER.

This is a very diversified school with a mostly terrific staff. The principal is WONDERFUL. He has turned this school around. He is strong and very present at the school every day. He is available to the parents and students. He is friendly, sincere, respectful, calm and highly effective at directing the environment towards higher learning and cooperation. There are still a few teachers that either need to move on or adjust their energy and intentions in the classroom. But overall this is a great school. My daughter attended FLVS.net for 3 years and began Brandon High for 10th grade. It was a very easy adjustment and she thoroughly enjoys the diverse student body and opportunity to learn from each other.

No one knows what they are doing there. No wonder they refined the schools. So more children can be pushed away from that awful school.

Brandon High School was a turn around school for me. I started high school at Robinson high. There was a lot of fights and a lot of other negative things going on. But at the end of the day it is based on the choices that the student makes. I was transferred to Brandon High my senior year and I graduated on time and was able to exempt exams for the first time during high school because of the awesome grades that I was earning! All in all, everyone's experience is what they make of it. I have children who I plan on sending to Brandon when the time comes because I am confident that they will make wise decisions and not start high school off the way that I did. With that being said, Brandon is a GREAT SCHOOL! GO EAGLES!

I have two teenagers that attended Brandon High School with different results. The eldest admits today that she wasted her education by making poor choices. Now in college and doing well, she says she wishes she would have been more involved in extracurricular activities and made better choices for herself academically and socially. The younger one is now ending his sophomore year at Brandon High School. He has made wise choices academically and socially. He is involved in extracurricular activities, honors and AP classes, and AVID. There are wonderful teachers and staff at the school willing to assist those who want to be helped. High school is what you decide to make of it. If you get involved in the school's activities and choose friends wisely, you can have an amazing experience. If you choose not to get involved and have a horrible experience, than at least understand that you made that choice. Thank you and I do hope you choose to enjoy your four years of high school !!

My girl graduated from Brandon this past school year. She had great teachers and not so great. Like anything else the experience is what you make it. Hold your child responsible for their actions and hold the school responsible for theirs. Be involved and on top of what your child is or is NOT doing. If you never walk through the doors and talk to the staff, then you can get a nasty surprise. The administration will hold teachers accoutable if they do not do what they are supposed to, they will hold the students responsible. They have fought to keep the arts in the school. A great Band director (no crap alllowed), Theater and Art teachers. A few too many "clubs". Overall, I never worried about her walking in the door.

Don't use the race card here! Brandon is a good school..Maybe just maybe the PARENTS should get more involved in what the kids are doing...Don't blame it on the teachers!!
