I have several kids here, and while there are definitely numerous problems, I have yet to see a school that has none. Overall the staff and administration show great concern for the students and try to help them grow not just academically but in maturity and spirit too. There are a few teachers in particular that show great care for the students as a whole, not just the grades they achieve. I'm not sure if it is ok to name them, but I am glad my own kids have some of them. Additionally, I know for a fact that they have gotten rid of some teachers in the last few years because they were not good for the students. So they won't just leave someone in place to avoid having to search for a replacement.

In my recent experience with CBCS, I have encountered deeply concerning issues that have significantly impacted my child's well-being and academic performance. For several months, the school failed to administer the prescribed medication crucial for managing my child's medical condition, leading to a drastic decline in his grades and emotional state. This negligence exacerbated the challenges he faced, including distressing incidents of bullying by a teacher. When we raised our concerns, instead of addressing the issues, the school's response was to retaliate against our child, further compounding the harm done. This behavior is far from the Christian values they profess to uphold. The situation was further aggravated upon discovering that most of the teachers at CBCS lack proper certification. This revelation is alarming and raises serious questions about the school's commitment to providing a safe and conducive learning environment. The experience has left an irreparable impact on our child, and it's disheartening to witness such a disregard for professional and ethical standards in an educational institution.

Come to this school if you want your child to get bullied and harassed daily because people get away with whatever they want if they know the principal who's a terrible person and can't deal with a kid having a anxiety attack in his office!! And won't let that kid leave until they "confess to what they did" but will let certain people do whatever they want if they know the right people .

I withdrew my child from this school mid year because of poor treatment by the Administration and their inability to deal with 9th Grade girl drama. Apparently, if you know the right people your child can receive special treatment even if they are on video punching another student in the girls bathroom. We will take our chances with Public school going forward. Not exactly the behavior one would expect from a Baptist Christian School.

I have really hesitated leaving a review since withdrawing my child after many years at the school. My child was left out of the yearbook even though they were there for picture day. I took my child out of the school at the end of the year so there was no excuse to be left out. I now have a year with no yearbook for my child. They school has really changed over the years and it seems more and more parents are withdrawing their children even in the middle of the year. Pretty sad when so many parents are pulling out their children and sending them to public school and it ends up being so much better. There are some really amazing teachers at the school but the head leadership is lacking. The school is also behind public schools so if your trying to get your child advanced research the curriculum and compare with other private schools first. Every other private school I had meetings with said that they have had other kids from Central really struggle when switching to their respective schools. This was eye opening for me and one reason why I chose public school in case my child struggled. Central does have a ton of homework so thankfully my child learned how to work hard and has excelled in public school. The elementary side is filled with loving teachers but again the leadership for the school is just not there, not fair, and not looking out for the well being of the children. My child was incredibly depressed and I know of about 10 other kids that have all withdrawn within the past year and all the parents had the same concerns and issues.

My daughter has been at this school for 14 years. She will graduate next year. A few years ago, our schedule was kicking into high gears. We discussed homeschooling as an option over traditional school. She decided to stay at Central. She is involved in many after school events like sports and chapel band and is on leadership teams. As in any other school, kids will be kids. There have been times when my daughter has had some difficult situations with peers. When needed, I've helped her work through circumstances and emotions. What I love is that she often confides in many staff members, maybe even before confiding in me. They spend time listening and supporting and offering godly wisdom when useful. I'll be transparent enough to say that I am employed by the school. In this manner, I won't comment on much more than my daughter's experience. As homework is asked about, I'll mention that this school does have homework. My daughter is generally responsible. She uses study hall time wisely. It is rare that she has a LOT of homework on a given night.

I had my daughter enrolled here for five years, the school instantaneously declined within the last two. The principal has no control of the school and there is no discipline whatsoever. If you are looking for a good christian school search elsewhere. The curriculum is DECENT at most, very disappointing. Overall mediocre...

Loved the school, teachers and coaches for the few weeks we were there. I have to agree with the issue with leadership and the principals lack of professionalism. I feel he is unable to have a conversation without being rude and judgmental.

Fantastic Principal and teachers, they care about the students and want to see all of the achieve. They are building their athletic program. All high school classes honors classes and higher so this will be great for college prep and they offer dual enrollment with HCC

Needs better leadership. However, I would like to say that all teaches are great and very professionals. Please do your homework before enrolling your kids in this school. I have no complaints about the teachers. Very professionals and caring. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the principle. He is not a bad person, but has serious anger issues and has no control of his actions and emotions. I will never though that this could be allowed on a Christian School. A principle = leader, and he is lacking of professionalism. What makes everything worse, you cannot have a normal conversation with him, without having to battle with his sarcasm. I really pray everyday that god can give him wisdom and knowledge to be able to guide others. So far I am not seeing any improvements, if at all, her has worsened. It is clear to me, that whoever has control over him, needs to be more careful when choosing a leader, and should be aware of the scar that he is leaving behind. I am not saying "Do not send your kids to Central Baptist", all I recommend you is that you do your own research before investing your time and money.

This will be our 7th year at CBCS and we love our school. The new principal (2015/2016) and his family have been a wonderful new addition. We have loved all our teachers so far and the office staff are the best. My children have learned so much academically and spiritually.

I have been very pleased with the new principal. He has excellent leadership skills and is willing to work hard to run a spiritually and academically exceptional school. I appreciated the changes made this year and look forward to more growth in the future.

This school is not a good school. Going to this school has made me not want to be a Christian anymore. This school does not prepare the students for the real world.

I would caution any parent considering this school to ask around town. We had to leave and I have met many people who have left the school due to the principal. His own children are out of control, kick the other students and say inappropriate things to them. Some of the teachers are wonderful examples of Christianity but when the leadership is not, that makes it difficult. The Pastor's wife teaches and she does not update Edline for months or inform the parents even if the grade drops significantly.

This school doesn't prepare children for the REAL world nor public high school. They are very behind in math and science. The staff also doesn't show a "Christ like attitude" nor does the principal. I can very much tell the last submission for a review was submitted by a ''teacher''.

All three of my sons attended CBCS from Kindergarten through 8th grade. All three were well prepared for high school. They passed the FCAT with flying colors and scored high on the SAT. My oldest graduated from High School in the top 25% of his class, my second son will be graduating this year in the top 5% of his class. They learned to be compassionate, strong men of God through the guidance of the teachers at this school.

CBCS is a wonderful school. The teachers are excellent, and loving Christian educators (especially 3rd and 4th). The school has made an affordable Christian education a priority over accreditation, but is continuing to work towards that goal as well. The focus of this school is on the children and their educations, with Christ at the center of it all. We have attended other private schools on the area, and CBCS is the best in so many ways.

My daughter just completed her 4th year at CBCS. While we liked the school in general, we left in large part due to the fact the school is currently unaccredited. The school has been seeking accreditation for some time but has yet to obtain it. I believe the staff genuinely cares about the students, there is considerable parental involvement, but some inconsistencies with feedback from the teachers, and a lack of supervision at times.
