This was not a great experience in my years in this school. I was consistently abused, harassed and bullied. The school doesn’t support growth and tries to wash outcast students out of the picture which makes the students believe they never belong here. Better send your child to a private school, certainly not here.

Our experience has been very good at MPS. Teachers, Leadership and PTO are very involved with the kids.

Someone has mentioned before that if you're white and moving from another school district your child immediately will be deemed inferior. Well, it was not a case for my kid, and we moved in the middle of the year from another state. He has ADHD and even before official diagnosis from the doctor we've got full support from the class teacher and school administration - with them suggesting perfectly appropriate accommodations and doing their best to leverage his natural interests to engage in some less preferred classwork. Regardless of some bad days (as any ADHD kid would have from time to time) he LOVES going to school and talks enthusiastically about almost all the teachers he had so far (it's his second year in this school).

The school might be a Blue Ribbon school but that is no thanks to the teachers/administration!!! I've had my daughter in the school for the past two years and the teachers and the administration are very unresponsive. They tend to believe they "know best" and refuse to listen to the concerns/suggestions of the parents. I've never seen a more egotistical/unfriendly group of administrative people. Heaven forbid if you need to go into the office to ask a question. To anyone working as a teacher/admin at Mount Prospect, remember you WORK FOR US!!! We pay for your salaries/benefits so please learn to listen to the voices of concerned parents!

Couldn't have asked for a better school that Mt Prospect for my son. The teachers, principal, administration, every thing about the school beats my expectations.

We have two children attending Mt. Prospect. The quality of the school, staff, and administration is unmatched. They go above and beyond and take the time to insure that our children are supported in every way to reach there full potential. I do not normally write reviews but I was simply outraged at the one star negative comment posted which does not reflect any of our personal experiences.

This is the type of school that thrives on putting down their students. The teachers dedicate no time to aiding your child and teaching them the proper material, but excel in chastising those who might need a bit more help. For a school in an area that has a large fluctuation of foreigners, the teachers and administration are very ignorant to the challenges that kids have when English is their second or third language. The school is unforgiving of any misstep and once your child does what the school considers to be a poor job, he or she gets marked with a scarlet letter. The teachers freely discuss their subjective opinions of your children so that when your child goes from, for example, 3rd to 4th grade, he or she has already been marked as either a genius or a poor fool. They provide no room for your child to improve because the teachers in themselves do not care about the mental and educational progress of your child - they simply want to fulfill their curve, having some on top and some on the bottom. Finally, their tutoring program is a joke as the tutor just plays on their cellphone instead of helping Some teachers are worthwhile, but in general this school is a disgrace!

We moved to Basking Ridge few months ago and Mount Prospect is everything we expected and a bit more! Mount Prospect has all the ingredients for a successful school -- Involved and dedicated Principal/Staff, Great teachers, State of the art facility, Excellent learning environment and a very competitive batch of students. We are very happy with the school.

Fantastic, Dedicated teachers. Staff can be difficult to get a hold of, but the experience for our children has been phenomenal - this school has stronger academics than the private schools I have visited.
