The staff and teachers at Montgomery Academy truly care about my son and his unique disabilities. They are sensitive to his needs and are easy to talk to about plans that would benefit him. My son requires a modified learning experience and they are able to adjust teaching to his needs. In the past year that my son has been at MA, they have taken small steps to accommodate him on a daily basis. He no longer has school refusal, has been more flexible at home, and is writing again! They understand that each child is an individual and work on strengths. The positive exchanges between his teachers and myself really show me that they care and want to help. Great job Montgomery Academy!

Our child was traumatized by his experiences in his last placement. He is Autistic. We visited Montgomery several times, with hopes our child would find a place of respect, love and acceptance. We brought our child in twice and requested very special circumstances to make his visit as non stressful as possible because he at this point was unable to trust anyone other than his immediate family. In fact he was afraid to leave the house up until his first visit to Montgomery. It is with great joy and appreciation that I say thank you as on his first visit he took to Tony the principal immediately, holding his arm during the tour. Our 2nd visit was just as amazing if not more, he connected to the other students and staff and loved the gym teacher! Thank you Montgomery, for your support, understanding and going the extra mile!

My daughter went there and this is the worst school I have ever seen in my life. I saw a lot of kids restrained many times including my child who had no restraining issues in general Ed before coming to this school. The principal and the teachers lie a lot to cover themselves. On their website they say if a student breaks a bulletin board they have him/her fix it. This is a lie. If a student does sth like that at least 5 staff will restrain that kid because all they do is to restrain kids even for small things. They have no patience for kids with behavior issues. I would recommend you to stay away from this school.

This school is great, the teachers are funny and kind and most students are very nice as well. There are many fun events like the Bubbles for Autism, the Dinner Dance, etc. The classroom has a lot of hands-on projects and the teachers try to make the topics interesting. You get to hang out with friends at the end of the day and have free time. And the best part is that you get snacks from the teachers! But one thing to keep in mind, if you are getting bullied, don’t expect the teachers or counselors to help you because they just tell you to ignore the situation. It (mostly) doesn’t work and the bullies will continue to bully you. It’s not until you have to take legal action in order for the bullying to stop or for the bullies to get kicked out. I remember me and my friends having to leave because of this. So, as long that no one bullies you, it’s a pretty great school.
