We were accepted at Caitlan Gable and OES but choose St. Stephens due to their headmaster Travis Koch. We sent a questioner to all three schools and were blown away by the response Travis sent us. The other schools gave vague explanations to the questions and all out avoided some. Travis addressed each question and concern with real world Christian understanding. We have two girls at the school and they are both thriving and love it. We have no doubt the school and the teachers care about each student and their success. I highly recommend St. Stephens.

St. Stephens is a great school for our two kids. They are challenged to truly learn, and what they learn is significant. They are learning to think critically, independently, speak well, write well, and have a great sense of history. My 1st grader tells me all about kings and queens of England at the dinner table, and my fifth grader recites things in Latin. It's fun to see them grow. The community is very tightly knit and teachers know each student very well. Highly recommend this school. While the facilities are not elaborate, I find the quality of education far outweighs any downside there.

We’ve graduated two from SSA so far. The entire community—admin, faculty, staff, coaches, students, and families—make this school an excellent place for kids to grow and thrive. The teachers have high expectations, but are warm and engaging. Sports, choir, and art are consistently recognized at state level, yet there are no try-outs—all are welcome. My kids love the house system and chapel. I could go on and on! Can’t recommend SSA enough.

Sending our daughter to St. Stephen's Academy is the best decision we ever made. She is thriving and flourishing at SSA. The academics are challenging and I've seen her improve in all subjects, while at the same time, she is growing in The Lord and building godly character. The only challenge with SSA is that the school is so small there are not as many extra-curricular choices and electives, such as band, football, ski team, etc.

St. Stephen's Academy is a gem of a school amongst a lot of rough rocks in the Portland Metro area. We have had all 3 of our children in the school since K and the oldest is now in 9th grade. SSA does a great job at combining strong academics with the development of Christian character and virtue. Students are taught how to think and analyze subjects in a way that is preparing them well to succeed in whatever callings God has for them. SSA is a welcoming learning community who's goal is to serve families and churches in the education of their children and they do a great job at listening to parents. I couldn't recommend the school highly enough. There isn't a better K-12 school in the state.

This has been our children’s first year at SSA and they both are thriving! My son who is in kindergarten adores his teacher and my daughter’s 4th grade teacher goes above and beyond to make sure she understands a subject, and if she’s having trouble, he’ll take her aside and help her. Both my children have learned so much and have cultivated positive relationships with not only the other children, but with the staff as well. I’m also very pleased with how well they communicate with the parents and give us constant updates. I initially found out about this school from a friend and another family who had nothing but positive things to say, and I couldn’t be happier that my children go to such a fantastic school where I don’t have to worry about them being negatively influenced or indoctrinated with nonsense. I feel privileged that my children go to SSA!

For the most part it was okay but some grades have been repressed deep into memory I cannot access because of how terrible the teachers were to me and everyone else. Just warning you.

One of the best things about St. Stephen's is the community. Each teacher and staff member genuinely cares about the students. The warmth and care is evident each day. My children are thriving here.

This school has been great for my son who needed a smaller environment. The class sizes are small so the kids get the attention and support they need to reach their full potential.

We are very pleased with the education our children are receiving at SSA. The curriculum is very well-rounded and engaging, the students are exposed to excellent arts and music, and the faith community is a strong support system. The teachers are excellent and the school offers a very warm and happy environment to the students.

Very good! St Stephens has given Charlie an excellent foundation educationally and in the arts for him to build on in the upper grades.

We came to St. Stephen's Academy 10 years ago to find an academically challenging environment for our Kindergartner. We found not only an environment with high academic standards, but also a loving and supportive community. We now have 3 kids attending, ranging in grades 2 through 9. This school teaches our children how to think, reason, and respectfully communicate. We have watched the school grow and develop over the past 10 years, but it has not lost the qualities that drew us here in the first place. I know my children will be ready for whatever future education and life has for them.

The return on investment our family has experienced through St. Stephen’s Academy is nothing short of remarkable. The community of teachers, staff, and other SSA families have made a beautiful, welcoming impact on our PreK-12 journey. My children will forever benefit from the high academic standards expected of them and the meaningful, wholistic character development curriculum.

Our oldest daughter has been at this school for five years, and our youngest one has been there for one year. This is an amazing school and we have seen the seeds of biblical truth which have been sown into their life began to grow. Proud to be an SSA family!

We absolutely love St. Stephens Academy, our son has been here two years and has grown tremendously, both academically, socially and in his character. All teachers and helpers provide not just top notch academics but a safe and grace filled environment for students to grow in. We are very pleased and highly recommend this school!

This is our fifth year at SSA and our three boys have grown so much academically, spiritually, and socially. I appreciate the consistency of vision and purpose that SSA provides. The teachers are top notch. The classrooms are full of respectful, well-disciplined kids. The environment is rigorous while at the same time fun and caring. This is an Classical Christian School worth looking into!

This is an amazing school. We were drawn by the academic focus of the school, infused with a biblical worldview; the model of developing students who can think clearly and communicate persuasively; and the culture of respect. We are in our tenth year, and continue to be very pleased with the education and development our children are receiving here.
