The school’s focus is not on the kids and their environment. The teachers are amazing and do their best in the constraints of the rules.

I can’t speak highly enough about the teachers and staff at Nancy Ryles. They are incredibly engaged and supportive, always going above and beyond to meet the individual needs of each student. It’s evident that they genuinely care about both the academic growth and personal development of their students. They take the time to understand my child’s unique needs and tailor their approach to ensure he feels valued and supported. Moreover, the school excels in building strong connections with families. They make a concerted effort to keep us involved and informed, creating numerous opportunities for us to engage with the school community. It’s clear that they are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where students, families, and staff work together to support each child’s success. This school truly stands out in its dedication to nurturing both the educational and personal aspects of its students’ lives.

The Murray Hill community is one of the kind! And Nancy Rhyles is an incredible elementary school for my children. The experience with the administration, the teachers and all the activities is amazing! Very happy with this school!

I love how inclusive our school is. They do a good job keeping us informed with any issues that arise while at school as well. My kids love their teachers and all of the activities our NRCO organizes.

Nancy Ryles has been a fantastic school for my children! The teachers truly care about their students, and they are dedicated to making sure every student learns the skills they need to be a successful student! I have loved every teacher my kids have had in the last 3 years they have attended Nancy Ryles. The community and family engagement is also top notch! So many opportunities for the rest of the family to be involved in their student’s school life!

My grandson goes to Nancy Ryles. I’ve attended school plays and many other activities. Jackson loves his teachers and enjoys Club K. The community support is amazing!

Nancy Ryles is located in one of the best communities, with engaged families and plenty of activities in the Murrayhill area to bring the community together. The school offers a supportive and challenging environment where my child feels welcome and loved by his teachers and the staff.

Nancy Ryles is a jewel in BSD. There aren't any other elementary schools like it. Not only is there excellent teachers, an explorative learning environment, value placed on art/science/math, but the environment itself is just magical. There are 33 languages spoken at this school and its a special place where you have diversity, and it's celebrated where the kids put on a world festival, celebrating and sharing their heritage. The school itself is in a location that allows for safety, many kids walk to school under the watchful eye of our favorite long term crossing guard, and the neighborhood "walking school bus" is a joy to watch.

Teachers shame students who struggle academically and Principal makes empty promises to manipulate you.

The principal will make many promises but execute on none of them.

The staff are very timely in their responses and follow up with all issues, concerns and overall care of my daughter. I have never been happier and more relieved in my child's education. She looks forward to every day she goes to school and has remained engaged and motivated to learn. I love the general physical layout of the school; it is very cozy, comfortable and welcoming. I moved into this neighborhood with the intention of my child receiving the education that she is currently receiving :)

The time my son spent at this school really helped him grow intellectually, he raised his self esteem and made good friends along the way. He arrived at this school with a less than pleasant experience and was behind and with the help of staff he thrived and became a good student. He was taught responsibility, and would look forward to go to school everyday. The teachers really do go above and beyond to help students improve! Plenty of opportunities for parent involvement and volunteering and fun activities to keep students focused. This is truly one of the best schools in the Beaverton School District and the State of Oregon.

My kids were doing great and excellent. After transfer to this school and re-transfer out it found out my children were incredibly left behind. The time my kids spend in the school they did not learn anything at all. If anything they back tracked. It was a constant fight with the teachers to challenge my children and it seemed they just refused and just kept pointing fingers at them for misconduct. I probably would have been better off homeschooling them except I don't have that kind of time. It seems to me if the children didn't already know it they were not allowed to be taught at this school.

My child has been attending this school for almost two years. Overall, we are very pleased with teachers’s responsiveness to his needs, challenging him to achieve, and parent communication.

The lack of communication is what bothers me the most. Then there is the teachers sleeping with students parents. My daughter is 10 and she hates going to school. No 10 year old should hate school. the staff does nothing to rectify the situation. The kids make fun of the teachers and know all about the scandals. There is also blatant favoritism. To the point teachers single kids out and treat them better if they like them more. I used to love this school but right now I can find nothing positive about it.

Overall this is a great school. My child loves going to nancy ryles. So far her teachers have been great and my experiences with the principal have been positive. This year they seem to have more teachers so class sizes are down which is great.

i have only the best to say about this school, i have a fourth grader, his teachers are the best, my son has adhd, and since the beginning of the school year we let know the teachers of the way my son learns, they have been more than wonderful setting a learning plan for him, and bless their hearts for the patience they have. They are always asking about how he is doing socially towards getting along with other kids since this is his first year in this school. The Principal is a very caring lady, she welcomed us with nothing but kindness, and i think the idea of having a therapy pet in the school will definitely help with interaction with kids. Thanks Nancy Ryles!.

I have two children attending Nancy Ryles and am so very pleased with our experience there. I have found that while I may not always understand or agree with something, all have been open to a dialog about it. There was a teacher that I didn't fully agree with but we sat down and discussed it and came to a great understanding. I volunteer in the school when I can and where needed. The staff, specialists, teachers, and the principal are ready to help whenever possible. As far as my children, they say that bullying is discussed and that if something comes up they are supposed to speak up. It is important to be positive and remember that it is a community that won't always be the way you want but you must work in a constructive way to make it better. If you don't get involved things will never change. It is a long-term investment and thanks to all those at Nancy Ryles for doing their very best no matter how funding is allocated/cut. We are a happy family in the NR community.

You won't volunteer because you don't want to do "scut" work?! WHAT?! First of all, I have a college degree and a professional job and I VOLUNTEER. To say that volunteering is beneath you and then to complain about the school is absolutely idiotic and ridiculous. You are either part of the solution or part of the problem. You sound like the latter. The school is going to LOSE funding (not loose - one of those pesky spelling words kids learn in, oh 2nd grade...) - all schools are in Oregon! If you aren't happy about that, vote to pass the levy to increase taxes for schools. As far as bullying goes, the school takes that very seriously. I don't believe for one minute that your child was bullied and the school ignored it. No way. If you were an involved, active participate in the school, as all parents should be, you would be able to ensure a good academic experience for your children. Those who do the least, complain the most. They expect the rest of us to do the work for them. I work and I volunteer. Do I have better things to do with my time? Yes. But I volunteer because I care about my kids' success. So should you.
