Our experience with Mountainside High School has been overwhelmingly positive. From the moment our son started at this school, we've been impressed by the level of support and dedication the staff shows towards each student's academic and personal growth. One of the standout features of this school is its inclusivity and the variety of opportunities it offers. Our son has had the chance to explore various interests, including participating in high school and club sports teams as well as having an opportunity to choose from a wide range of extracurricular clubs. Parent involvement is highly encouraged but not mandatory, which strikes a great balance. It allows parents to engage as much or as little as they wish, while still having their child benefit from the school’s extensive resources and programs. The opportunities for involvement are numerous, and the more you put into it, the more rewarding the experience can be.Overall, we are very impressed with Mountinside and feel confident in recommending it to other parents. If you’re looking for a school that supports diverse interests, fosters academic growth, and offers a variety of extracurricular opportunities, this school is an excellent choice.

I have a sophomore and a senior at Mountainside. I can’t say enough great things about it. I have been so impressed with their teachers ( all but one). There are so many clubs available at the school and of course sports that it’s easy to get involved no matter what your interest is. One of my children is also doing the computer science pathway, and it is absolutely amazing the courses that are available.

In our experience this school has great wrestling coaches. Teachers that do the job. From there students are allowed to be harassed by staff, searched unjustly and even when video evidence doesn’t support the searchers claims and the student known to be a good, kind, and standout student athlete the leadership closes ranks to support staff not students. Notable exception was the vice principle who I would name but not sure how she would feel. We did feel very supported by her.

I have been impressed with the culture at Mountainside. The staff and faculty go out of their way to encourage students and maintain an atmosphere in which bullying is not tolerated and diversity is valued. Having participated in a panel of parents who gave feedback to national evaluators, I can say that both the other parents and the evaluators gave Mountainside the highest possible marks. We are very grateful our daughter is a Mountainside Maverick!

The Jan 2021 scoring of "1" for College preparation is a nonsense metric since 1) Mountainside a brand school with only 1 graduating class (2020) that hasn't even been posted 2) It's an IB school, not AP, but the Great Schools program tracks AP.Mountainside is an amazing school with state of the art infrastructure for science. The music and sports programs are excellent with their Marching Band having won the all NW Marching Band competition after just 2 years (single A). They are already strong in several sports including Football, Women's Soccer, and Golf.

Our family started at MHS in its first year. We had three students there. It has been a great, inclusive experience for all of us.

10/10 because I feel like I can be myself at this school and there are a lot of resources that I could go to if I need them

My experience with this school is very poor.

I'd say for the most part I like MHS. I've made a lot of great friends here. Most of the teachers a great. There seems to be a club or activity like sports or band for everyone here. With that being said there's a lot of kids who are a bit stuck-up and cliquey. This is the type of school where you'll find kids who will straight up refuse to talk to you simply because you don't own airpods or drive a porsche. The grading system also kinda sucks, to the point of where it can be nearly impossible to get an A in some classes. Overall, my experience at MHS has been great but I can't say the same for everyone.
