Nothing but good things to say about this school. The staff and administration truly care about the kids and it has amazing free programs for this community.

My child has had a very positive experience in the dual language program. The staff and administration are very committed to the school and students. This has been a very challenging year and they have risen to the occasion. The school could benefit from more parental involvement though. The campus is tucked away and backs up to a greenbelt, it's a lovely area and school that many would overlook because of the test scores. If you are considering this school, I suggest you reach out to the school and ask to speak to a current parent or see the campus (if Covid allows). Don't judge it on numbers alone. What makes Perez special is the people and community, and that can't be quantified.

We have been very impressed with the dual language program and the energy and commitment of the teachers. Both our children love going to school here. The principal and teachers have created an excellent, supportive cultural.

Front seat and staff and teachers need to get together and have a meeting. Lady’s up front do not know what they are doing they seem lost all the time. You ask them a question my principal is not here ! Principal is never there to help with someone concern!

While some teachers at Perez care deeply about the success of all students, the administrators set a clear tone that test scores are the single most important factor at Perez Elementary. Students and teachers are treated drastically differently based on the way they perform on the STAAR exam. If your child is good at taking tests, he or she will be welcomed at Perez. On the other hand, if a student performs poorly for 1-2 years, they are often marginalized through cynical decisions by administrators and teachers to focus more attention on the students who they think have a better chance of passing the STAAR rather than those kids that need the most help. This helps the school have a higher overall passing rate on the STAAR, however students with lower scores routinely fall through the crack, getting ignored rather than receiving the remedial instruction they need to grow.

The office staff is the first impression you get when you walk into the school. They lack people skills. I'd advise the principal that this reflects on him and the school. Perhaps put them on a growth plan like teachers get to improve get someone who really is sincerely good with people. Those women drag the school down. First impression is everything.

This a great school! My kids have gone here since pre K and never had any issues with staff or the principle. Location is kinda hidden but overall is a great school. I love that they have parking in place and direct traffic at all busy times of the day. It makes it very easy to pick up my kids. School is kept clean.
