We recently switched our 3-year-old from Primrose Longwood to Starchild Academy Apopka due to curriculum. We have seen her educationally grow leaps and bounds in only a month of time. The structure at this school is specifically designed for education and learning. Every day, I know what work my daughter has done, will do, and what was completed that day/week. The transparency on what she is learning is amazing and we are so grateful that they had an open spot for her. I highly recommend this school to parents looking in the Longwood/Wekiwa Area!!

We tried StarChild for our daughter, however we only lasted 4 days. On day 2, our child came home with a finger nail falling off, and another one that was black. Clearly her fingers were smashed, but they had no record of an incident and did not inform us of her accident. On day 3, we logged into the cameras to watch and noticed they took our child's plate full of food away and marked her as "eating the entire meal." On the last day, day 4, we logged into the cameras to witness our child being forcefully placed onto her mat for a nap, and a blanket piled on top of her. Lastly, if you go tour the school, notice how there is no structure. The kids are running around and there are no set areas to gather. As we started talking about our experiences, parents in our neighborhood said we did the right thing to pull our child out. The school has lost its reputation, and it does not compare to the other locations around Central Florida.

Not a good school! Teachers tell and don’t treat the students good. My son it’s so much happier in this new school!

The teachers are great with the kids. My toddler loves attending daycare. He is very happy and learning a lot.

I grew up in an academically focused environment, school is important to me and I know that when I send my kids to school everyone is focused on teaching our children effectively. My daughter is reading at 3 and even though she has been to other schools, she's really improved at Star Child. The teachers work hard and communicate with us, I went to 3 schools before going here and there's no comparison this is the best school around to prepare you child to excel at school.

I would not recommend this school. Teachers are young and don’t care. On camera they are rough with kids. They don’t teach the kids they just let them play. Teachers and kids have covid and not tell the parents. My daughter will not be going back.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Horrible new owners, they trust the staff to run the school.

SCA Wekiva was one of the best schools under previous management. Now, it is not. New owners are not as interested in what is important to most parents. Recently, there has been a huge exodus of both teachers & students

Our experience was a nightmare. Not recommended

Even though teachers are the driving force, they are unappreciated, over worked, and intimidated by the administration (coming from a teacher of 10+ yrs). Teachers are given conflicting rules and berated whenever the administration feels controversy from parents.

I put my infant of 5 months in at the Star Child in Apopka. I had him there for only 3 months and had to pull him out. He kept getting hurt and bit in the class and not a teacher could tell me what happened. I know teachers don't see everything but getting hurt and bit on a continual basis is an issue. When I expressed my concern to the teachers they did not seem to care. When I went to the front they told me that kids do get hurt in daycare. I know that but I think the teachers should at least see some of the incidents. Front staff is cold and do not seem to really care about the parent concerns. I think one issue is that all the infants are in one room and my son was in there will almost 1 year olds. I was concerned from the beginning but gave it a chance. AFter 3 months I could not keep doing it. The last day I went I saw a teacher place him down forcefully. I immediately went up to the front and told them he was not returning. They did not ask why or even care. It is all about the money at the Star Child in Apopka. I do not know if the other locations are like this but you do not want to enroll your child in this location. High rate of turnover.

We absolutely LOVE StarChild Academy. Our daughter is only 21 months and can say her ABC's, count to 15, tell you most shapes, and knows basic colors. We are so impressed by the teachers, staff members, and owners of StarChild Academy. They do whatever it takes to ensure that your child is learning and enjoying school. As a working mother, I feel confident everyday that I drop my child off for school that she is in the best hands.

Our daughter has been attending Star Child since she was a year old and is now in Kindergarten. We have been thrilled with the program and feel 100% comfortable with her being there. It is a structured program and may not be for every child. My daughter loves to learn and is the type of kid that would likely be bored in a typical kindergarten setting. She is not a perfect child by any means, but takes to learning like a fish in water. I look forward to her continuing her education at Star Child.

My son has been going here for 6 months. I am amazed at what he has learned in such a short time. At first I thought the idea of homework at his age (3 when he started) was too much. He has it done in 5 minutes. He likes his school and has a sense of pride every time he points out a Star Child bumper sticker. I'm very happy with our decision to move him here.

Starchild has been the best thing that has happened to our family. My son has learned so much in 6 months! he has gotten over being shy, is outgoing and is sooooo loved by all of the teachers. The environment is clean and safe and the security system is top-notch. I know I will not find this peace of mind anywhere else.

Great school if you want your children to start out with the best education possible. I currently have 3 children attending and they all are doing very well. I could not be more pleased with the owner, teachers and the rest of the staff. I just wish they could take kids up to 12th grade :-)

REPORTED THEM TO DCF AND THEY ARE GOING TO INVESTIGATE THE PRACTICES OCCURING AT THE SCHOOL! When we go in the classroom we heard the teacher screaming at a boy for not laying still on his mat. He is 3 he is not going to be completely still. Then we realized that all of the kids were on a mat and had a top cover pulled over their head and completely tucked under the mat. I mean completely over the entire body and face and then tucked under the mat. How can they breath and how can the teacher see them to be sure they are ok? My wife and I expressed our concern and told her that is not acceptable for our daughter. The teacher said that is the school rule and we would have to talk to Cindy. We then asked for all of our daughter's belongings and walked up front. We then told the front desk that we were questioning some of things occuring and that we were not ok with what occured and that we would not be back. Please be aware of what happens at this school throught the day not just on a tour. I have spoken to a woman at DCF and reported what I saw and my concerns. She told me they will open an investigation and go investigate the school. Not a good school at all, beware
