Been a parent at this school for over 10 years and I wouldn’t send my kids anywhere else! Passion, pride, professionalism…both my kids have thrived there. It’s such a well-rounded school with diverse students and staff. They respect family values, provide excellent education and make learning fun! From gifted services to ASD services, ESOL, YMCA, dance, theatre, recess, parent/community engagement activities and so much more. We love Clay Springs Black Bears!

My son attends kindergarten at Clay Springs and it's been such a great experience. His teacher is attentive and communicative. We truly love this school and is looking forward to first grade here.

Communication! Communication! Communication! i cannot express how important parent/teacher communication is in order for children to excel! I've had this problem in the past with teachers at this very school, and ONLY AT THIS SCHOOL. If my child isn't doing well, or slipping up, or anything of that sort, i expect to be notified immediately so that I can do my part as a parent and address whatever needs to be addressed. I understand that not all parents are actively involved with their child's education, but I am a parent that is attempting to do my part, so I need the teachers and the principal to meet me halfway. I should not have to wait for parent teacher conference to find out that my child is not doing as they should on more than one occasion. once again i should have been contacted! let the parent decide whether something is serious or not, as well as how they would like to deal with the situation, as what is acceptable to the teacher may not be acceptable to the parent. what frustrates me is that i took it upon myself to email the principal my concerns, and she did not have the decency to respond in any way shape or form. Again there goes the lack of communication! Another thing is, the school no longer has the children bring home an agenda, which is fine because they use a app called ClassDojo, but I don't think it is being used effectively. i was told that the children's homework would be posted daily, but it's not. I understand the importance of teaching the children responsibility, and that they are more than capable of writing down their own homework, but how are parents to make sure that their child is doing all their homework if they don't know what the homework is? Seriously this is very frustrating! I am just a parent trying to do my part..

I guess you can't expect too much- Orange County spent the money on the building and not the teachers! My daughter went to school a different school last year where her principal/teachers said she was a high achiever, but not at Clay Springs. You don't receive or hear anything from the teachers unless you ask for. Forget the progress report log in. One teacher updates her grades and the other one doesn't at all. You don't know where your child stands until you get the report card. I guess if you don't ask regularly and the child is at a B grade level or lower you will find out only from the report card. Homework is not checked for corrections, and no newsletter or report given to let you know what are they studying at least on monthly basis, so basically you are in the dark of what your child is learning. With a new building, new principle my expectations were high...enthusiasm, energy , drive but alas none of the above- no encouragement for the kids, no after school programs such as STEM, book club, music- I guess the principle and staff can't wait to get home- I feel as a parent they are providing day care only and Education is a oxymoron at Clay Springs. As long as the kids make the grade level!! kids like to learn- it's a enthusiastic teacher that makes them excel(with love, encouragement, involvement, commitment etc from the parents). In the meantime my daughter has dropped to a B and being pestered by a couple of boys. Yes my wife has informed her teachers about them, and my daughter will not be going next term to Clay Springs.

Principle was horrible as well as the teacher we had. Teacher said my child was below level. I find this funny since my child now attends a Private School and makes honor roll. My child was scared to go to class. No child should feel this way. If you have an option don't send your kid to this school. You will regret it. I'd add more but the rules for posting ads don't allow me to say what I really want to say. Good luck.

I went here for six years (kindergarden-5th now in 7th) And I was miserable! The teachers and staff don't care about the students. For example my little brother got beat-up and the assistant principal did'nt care at all! All she said was it's not are problem. The teachers act all nice in front of the parents but when there not around they are very mean!
