My child is in the first grade at Wakelon. We have had such a great experience with the staff. The principal cares so much for the safety and learning of all students. She is so nice and helpful. We have lucked out in kindergarten and first grade. Our teacher loves the kids so much. My daughter tells me that she feels cared for by both the teacher and the Teacher Assistant. We feel like there is always an opportunity for us to come to the school and engage with our daughter and her classmates. The last two times we were there, we witness the principal and the Assistant Principal support the kids who parents could not make it. She made sure all students had someone to support the kids who parents were not able to make it. The atmosphere is inviting and the my two kids are so happy to go to school every day. What was the icing on the top for me and my husband was when we saw her riding in the Zebulon Christmas parade. She was so excited when she saw Wakelon students in the audience. She waved and called all of the kids by their names. That was the best feeling as a parent.

I like this school. The teachers and principal know or are familiar with the kids and their parents. The security at the school is pretty good. After morning drop off, they keep the doors locked and you have to show ID before they let you in.

My sons experience at Wakelon has been one of the best experiences. Out of all my kids elementary schools Wakelon is by far the BEST school I've been a part of. I want to say thank you to all the teachers and the Principe for giving my son the best 3 years of school experience. I can't wait to spend the next 3 years with you all. I also feel strongly that these years are the most important for the students. I also feel that Elementary teachers a way UNDER PAID, because the higher grade teachers only have to teach them out of a book while Elementary teachers have to teach our kids how to be little men and little women plus all the other subjects they have to teach. So I feel they person who made up the teachers pay grades have truly lost their minds. So Wakelon thank you for all you have done for my son you all have made him fall in love with school, so thank you so very much.

There is a lot of potential. The teachers need to be allowed to teach and less emphasis on paperwork and endless meetings.
