My children feel very comfortable at this school. This is what has kept us here over the years. My children need more, and therefore I need to search to find the best fit for them.

Teachers are caring and attentive, both of my children have been enrolled and I couldn't be happier.

Lake Myra has been an amazing experience for us as parents and our two children. The school lives, eats and breathes the positive behavior and support program (PBIS). I see major differences between my children and those that attend a non-PBIS and non-leadership school. Lake Myra has a fabulous combination! I have one AIG student that remains challenged and growing and a second that is getting great support in his problem area. Parent-teacher communication has been prompt and truthful. I highly recommend LMES!

Lake Myra Elementary is a gem. Every employee there is vested in our childrens education and well being from the Principal, Dr Argent to the custodial engineers. I have never been to a school where the teachers and office staff knew most of the children by name. The teachers are fantastic about responding to emails promptly and completely. I honestly was a little terrified when it came time for my twins to begin school in Wake County. When I spoke to the woman who was to be my son's teacher for the first time she saw that and said to me, "Our number one goal is to make your child feel loved and safe." They have. I feel that I have a team working with me to ensure that my children thrive in their educational environment. I am never on campus without seeing Dr. Argent or VP Tina Zarzecki in the hallways. The school has a Leadership program that teaches the children the 7 habits of highly effective people as part of the school- wide program.

This is truly a quality public school and it is a joy and privilege to send 3 (soon to be 4) of my children there. The principal is intelligent, energetic, and passionate about education. He is highly engaged with parents, teachers, and students alike, an excellent communicator, fair and effective administrator, and exceptional visionary and motivator. The teachers and staff are superb and friendly, with a healthy mix of new and veteran educators largely well matched to their areas of service and expertise. The school fosters a climate of positivity, openness, high expectations, mutual respect, and creative inquiry, which is evident from the first moments you walk through the doors. The classrooms are well equipped for teaching and learning and there are ample resources to help students achieve. Overall, my children have attended this school 4 years and the environment has been consistently safe, healthy, supportive, and welcoming for each of them, though their academic needs range from intervention services to AIG. (As a side note: my oldest attended a reputable private school for K & I would choose LME any day over this - that's how much we love it!)

My son started kindergarten the year LME opened and cannot say enough good things about LME. The staff is wonderful. During open house I spoke with the Speech Pathologist about my son's speech insecurities. While they were age appropriate and we had been told he would grow out of it, he was embarrassed. After an evaluation he received the help he needed. He has ALWAYS been challenged and made AIG in Math and English as a result of this and his hard work. I just can't say enough and will miss LME when we leave for 6th grade!!!!

We currently have 4 children enrolled at Lake Myra and I will be sad when they move on to middle school. The teachers are wonderful, the entire staff is extremely helpful. It is so easy to get involved in school activities and classes as a parent. We moved from a school in another state where our son had issues with focusing and was having a hard time. At Lake Myra, they have been excellent with him and he is now in accelerated groups that are holding his attention and he loves it! The kids LOVE going to school every day - and I feel safe sending them there.

My son struggled in school after school and even had a Principal tell us that he could never succeed in public schools. We moved out here and put him in Lake Myra! His grades immediately increased, his behavior did an absolute 180, and he was so much happier. The Principal was outstanding and his teachers were so very helpful. I can't say enough about this school and how much we love it. THANK YOU for encouraging my son to succeed and helping boost his self esteem. As for the ex-principal? He received an email with a picture included - My son standing next to Lake Myra's Principal with his certificate and Principal of the Day award along with a copy of his current report card of STRAIGHT A's!

We love it here. It is uncrowded, the staff is friendly, and the parents don't seem stuck up. Most of the parents work full time, hence the lower parent involvement score.

My son is in K at this school. I can't say enough good things about this school. My son is always coming home singing new songs about what he learned in school that day. They try really hard to get parents involved, via family nights almost on a monthly basis. Mrs. Mitchell is great and my son loves her. She is very good at returning emails about problems, or concerns we had.

My son has been a student of Lake Myra Elementary since Kindergarten and he is going into the third grade soon. Every year we have had an excellent teacher and the PTA is very active creating many different activities for parents to be a part of. I decided to write a review of Lake Myra because we are moving and we are very sad to be leaving this great school.

We love this school, the teachers really care about the kids and take individual time with each one. There's No toleration for bullies and everyone is willing to help in anyway they can!!
