This school does nothing to prevent and discipline bullies. Totally out of control. They claim to address this but you see the student bullies back in class the next day. They cover it up. I’ll never allow anyone I know attend this school.

Our child attends CH. When we first moved to the area CH was ranked 9/10 and was considered the "better" high school in Clayton. This is no longer the case. This school does not provide a safe learning environment. In 2023 it was reported that the special education teachers were spraying special needs students with water in order to modify behavior. Weekly, there are several student fights occurring in the hallways or other common areas. In 2023, a student was transferred via ambulance to the emergency room for suspicion of a drug overdose. Students are taking pictures of other students while in the bathroom and sharing amongst their peers. Despite the frequency of such instances, the administration refuses to discipline students for such conduct in a timely manner and the severity in which such offenses deserve. Bottomline, this school is not safe for your child. If your child plays sports this school is not for you. For example, the baseball coach prohibits students from playing other sports such as football or basketball. Athletic performance is under-achieving in all disciplines. Similarly, the educators lack professionalism and behave more like the students that they are supposed to lead, including vocally criticizing students in front of their peers. Due to the above factors, many parents have transferred their children to Corinth High or Academies. Unfortunately, we will be forced to do the same for the next academic year.

I have a few kids who joined this school year late. My children attended a school in Durham that some would considered in a b ad neighborhood but I would recommend before this one, they have NEVER experienced bullying or being hurt by students there. Lots of bullying towards my boys here in the short 3 months they've been here, my son who has a learning disability was being bullied on the bus by one student who has now decided she would rather use her hands to hurt him. While my older son tried to help him, he was then jumped by two older students which included the student who bullied my much younger son. My kids are now scared to ride the bus, and after that incident I will never allow them back on!The bus driver watched as they hurt him! As a mother it hurts my soul to feel helpless on their behalf. One kindergarten teacher lied about a threat he made to my son than later told the half truth when I pressed the issue with the Principle. A teacher said some very hurtful things to my older son and then told lies about things he supposedly said and did after she to the Principle she only gave him words of encouragement. The Principle chooses to do his own investigation, one where I am given no names of these supposedly teachers he's talked to, I am given no meetings to talk directly to these teachers he's talked to and no matter what me or my children say he sides with the teachers even after that one teacher lied to him at first. They're some amazing supporters to our children here, bus administrator is a wonderful woman of her word and she truly cares for the safety of our children as well as the truth, no past transgressions. Amazing teachers like the ones in charge of the IEP students really care for my son and he enjoys learning more because of them, Thank you! There are plenty of amazing teachers, school employees who really do care about the safely and education of our children, but majority rules and the majority in the higher ups like the office tend to lie, pretend they care till you burden them with your need for a follow up report on the safely and well being of your children.

We love CHES! We came from Wake County where we were just a number. This is a true community school where everyone from the principal to teachers to the office staff to bus drivers make you feel like family.

Awful. Look elsewhere. Students safety compromised and admin and superintendents office will lie government cover up for the principal. It seems my other review was deleted. I will continue to share my story and want other parents. This is a true, accurate and honest review.

Great! WE hate that the principal has been moved but the good news is she will be at the middle school when they get there.

This school is way too strict. You are always being watched, even when you go to the restroom. The principal here only cares about the way he looks and could care less about the student's and their education.

This s bybfarvhe best school we have attended. They do all they can for the families within the walls. I know they care about my child and me. Other schools might look better from the outside, but it is what is inside that matters. We love CHES!!!

This is really a great school. They care about the students. They challenge them and provide support to those who need it. I have had two children in the EC program and they did great. The communication is great. Nice small family feel school!

My kids have been at this school for three years. I have had nothing but positive experiences. The teachers and staff go the extra mile to meet the needs of all students. The principal is always willing to listen. If you notice the last few comments were all posted on the same day probably by the same person. No school is perfect but this is a close to perfect as you can get!!!!
