    Had four children attend Whittier over a span of 14 years & this elementary school is by far the best out of the schools they've attended. They had excellent teachers, appropriate levels of homework, discipline, activities, etc. The parents are involved without controlling. Overall an excellent 6 years for each of my kids. The school rating was historically 9/10 & I was interested as to why it had been lowered - then I discovered the new diversity factor that is now included in the score (4/10). This factor cannot be controlled as Whittier's student population is drawn from the neighborhood/area surrounding the school.
