They do not care about children with special needs. They make them ask for what they are supposed to be receiving by law, according to their IEP's. They do not have the teachers necessary to fulfill their obligations as a public school district. I am not sure where they are spending their money, maybe athletics I do not know, but it most certainly isn't on the kids that need the most help. The last IEP meeting my wife and child were made to fill incompetent and like they did not matter, both nearly in tears because of the person orchestrating this meeting. Next time we will have a lawyer present. The system is failing these kids and no one gives a crap about them.... so done. Florida medical and education are horrible...

Great school environment that provides the opportunity for all students to learn and achieve. The teachers truly care about their students.

All the staff are amazing! They all work really hard to give all these kids a safe and fun learning environment! So happy we found this school.

The administration in this school is the worst I have seen. Constantly harassing, lack of compassion and understanding of learning differences.

Not impressed with this school at all! Many issues! Starting with the Principal to other areas of administration, front office and Registrar; they are Very Rude! The Principal and Registrar were the worst to deal with on more than one occasion. This is definitely the Worst school I have ever dealt with! There is much needed room for improvement starting with their attitude, compassion and caring toward Parents and Students. It’s definitely not a Welcoming school at all! We are very disappointed in this school. We have never had these kind of issues with our children at any other schools in state and out of state ever. Also students shouldn’t be answering phones in the office. They are not well informed to help parents calling in. They should hire the necessary help.

This school has turned into a disastrous political nightmare, where teachers tell their honors class students to forget about their academic dreams when facing abuse and injustice.

I’m coming up on my third year at this school and all I can say is it was okay. Nothing really big and eventful, just an average school. Punishments here are tough, after three tardies it’s straight to detention. And tardies are absolute, as soon as that bell rings you’re locked out even if it’s a second too late you get sent across the school to get a tardy slip and return to class 10 minutes later where you would’ve only missed 10 seconds of lessons. I don’t know, it’s been weird. Wiregrass is basic, all the kids are kinda the same. Most teachers are cool. Drugs are kinda a problem.

The school is overall a good school I believe the teachers are engaged in teaching. What I want to see is more respect to the student. My daughter has to run to the portables to get to class on time this is absurd! She has to navigate through a huge amount of students. She has been running up the ramp to get to class and the teacher has slammed the door in her face several times telling her to go to the late table. After this if your continuously late you get a Saturday school detention or after school detention option. She has to take the Saturday option so she doesn't miss her 2 hours of sport conditioning after school each day. It really makes a child feel stupid and very disrespected when this is something that is not her fault!!!

This school has an excellent education, teachers are engaged and have a sincere love for teaching. Every teacher I have talked to has always had the best interest of my child. Compared to other schools this is the "best-of-breed" in our county. Like other schools it has its problems, the front office is disorganized, unhelpful and to say the least lackluster, the counselors are overwhelmed and unable to help most times, and yes the 5-minute tardiness rule is unfair and may be detrimental to some, but teaches that not all in life is fair, and who knows maybe they've learned and hopefully next year is 6 minutes instead. But, again it has advantages that no other school has, such as a superb, one-of-kind music program, top-notch baseball, and football programs and overall outstanding DE and AP programs with magnificent teachers. I believe that if all things considered, this school is in fact best-of-breed.

The school just implemented a system where if students are late to school or late to any class, they get punished with continuous consequences which increase which each lateness. Parents cannot excuse any lateness unless the student has came from the hospital or doctors office. More students than ever have gotten referrals for “behavior” which stick to student transcripts and reduce the likelihood of getting accepted into your dream college. It takes 3 latenesses to any class to be assigned lunch detention, whether or not you come right after the bell or not. Parents your student will suffer if he/she come to school any other way besides bus.

There is way too many students for a 5 mins passing time. How about actually have more buildings to host students instead of old, far portables ... Many teachers are great, however, some shows no respect to students but expect it in return. Many teachers are also busy giving work that they don't even know how to solve. Maybe include some life-learning work and students would listen more like how to use and pay a credit card ETC ...

There are so many things wrong with the school. So many. Mainly I will compare a lot of my experiences with this school to my old school which I attended for 3 years. The school is run as if it was still small even though there's way too many students attending the school. Many areas of the school receive little funding at all. I know teachers who are pulling all-nighters trying to grade all the assignments the school district makes them assign. And that is a whole other complaint against the state's school system in general. The teachers either try too hard to teach and fit in the assignments or they literally just don't care and they throw out grades for nothing and it ends up being a nightmare of stress for the students. The library people were a little rude when I needed to print something out quickly, all because I didn't get a pass before the bell rang. Between walking to my locker, using the bathroom, and walking to the library, I needed more than 5 minutes to get there to get the pass. In my old school we didn't need a pass to print something out really quick during our lunch as a first stop! The ladies were like, "We'll let you in this time but next time you need a pass." I apparently missed the AP test registration??? I never heard of when or where it was, which should be the school's responsibility to actually announce??? The school is overcrowded, but that's something that we all know. Herff Jones is another nightmare to deal with, especially with students who don't know what a cap and gown should cost. over $100 dollars for JUST the cap and gown. Prom tickets were a nightmare too. It's supposed to be a senior night only. In my old school, people who weren't seniors had to be invited by a senior in order to attend. I have a lot more to complain about but I'll stick with this.

My daughter and step-son attend WRHS. Apparently they have too many students for the Counselors and Staff to actually care about the plans set in place and ensuring Students get what they need to graduate. I understand this was a very good school a couple years ago, but I also understand why their ratings are slipping. If your children are going to attend WRHS, be ready to take an active roll in ensuring they get what they need, and don't trust that anything you have set in place will happen until you see it!

Terrible principle and athletic director. There's a group of negative students that go to sporting events that heckle and harass players. She calls it great school spirit. Most call it bullying.

One of the best fine arts programs in a general public high school in Pasco County. Dedicated parents. Outstanding staff. The Music program (Bands & Guard) is an award winning program that was priceless to our kids' development. We only had one teacher we had to meet with to discuss teaching our kids. (Math) Other than that, the students here will succeed with the hard work that is necessary. Extra-curricular programs are abundant and challenging. The school is growing in population, programs, management, and benefits. Although our last child graduates this year, I am excited for the future of the WRHS Bulls. The programs are competitive. Graduates have gone on to programs from Yale/Harvard to Community College, and been successful.

I move here from New York and I'm a very productive student but I have a huge question mark for my future. I ask for help when is needed but some teachers don't even care. Most of them assign busy work and don't even teach. I'm taking a class and the teacher isn't even teaching them, there's another teacher teaching the class. In the beginning of the school year I've had to get my schedule changed because of overcrowding and then I get put into a class (referring to the previous teacher) that is very crowded. Some teachers even TEXT or talk on the phone with another teacher during class. I've asked for help on what classes I should take based on the career and the counselor gave me such a bland answer: "Take a lot of sciences"... I asked her about what colleges she recommends me to go to and she just hands me a website! When my family was in New York and my older sister had the same questions they gave her pamphlets and booklets of some colleges she should go to. My dad has had to argue with some teachers to pull me out of ESOL when I know both english and spanish fluently. Its a very unhelpful system. Although I am very grateful for the teachers that actually do help me.

Wiregrass Ranch is a good school compared to others around the county. There's plenty of clubs and extracurricular activities to participate in. There's also in school resources the students can use to do things like homework, research, print homework, ect. After school there's even tutoring sessions. My personal favourite is how the school utilizes technology so much with learning. However, there are flaws as there would be to and school. Some teachers care more than others and it's highly evident most of them do care enough to want you to pass. The school only seems to fund to a football team that hardly ever wins. My friends in band as they can only get their uniforms washed once or twice a year(how gross). The gym is never actually used for PE only for basketball events/practices which sucks, especially in the summer. Students here like to start redundant trends but it's something that can be ignored. The school overall is a really good school and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
