This is our first year and my child is in kindergarten. We moved from a State where the only option was private school and they expected perfection from babies. That being said my child has excelled here. She is academically doing well and has finally found her place. For my child the environment and rewards system they use for behavior has been wonderful. They also seem to understand that kids will be kids but take the right things seriously. Everyone on staff I have encountered has been very pleasant and seem to really like being there. PTA also seems very involved and I would almost equate them to what I have seen in private settings which says something. We have many years to go but hopefully my child will continue to grow at this school.

The school is great. I can not thank enough Miss Fischer and Miss Miller for the amazing work they do. They work hard in making sure students do not fall behind. I absolutely love Sand Pine and am very pleased with all the teachers my kids have had so far.

Great, we love the community and the school staff. We recently had our academic night and it was great a lot of tools were provide for us, the parents, to help our kids with reading skills.

highs and lows; some teachers care and others are just doing time. you need to take a vested interest in your childs education and not rely on the pasco county school system...try a half and half mix.... our student does alot of online learning and only attends school for 1/2 a day....those teachers are much more involved and are always available for communication

They give 10 minute recess. They sent my child home with referrals in kindergarten without me even getting a phone call, and was only given the referrals over a he said she said, no teacher officially saw it problem. I should of moved him from there then, now this year, because my child is a young 1st grader, he's had so much extra help and they recommended he see a doctor. That's fine, but the way teaching is now a days isn't to better the child.

I love Sand Pine Elementary! My daughter is in first grade and my experience with the school is that everyone is warm and welcoming. I find that the staff is willing to help, have high standards and generally show an interest in my child.

My son was a special needs student who got limited support and understanding from the teachers and staff. Instead of trying to work with us, they actively worked against us and made commitments they never followed through with. I offered to pay to have a specialist come in and help the staff develop an understanding of his needs and why he behaved the way he did and they declined and explained they were experts in education. I removed him and placed him in a private school and upon testing him, he scored high school in 3 areas and on level in 3 other areas. He also went from a B and C student, to an Honor Roll/ Principal's Honor Roll student. He has truly blossomed since he left Sandpine. I have another child who is set to attend Sandpine and I am terrified.

Our child studied there since kinder; unfortunately we had to move and we miss all the positive enviorement & great education he was receiveing. We felt part of the school as a great family. We are considering to move back just to keep our son in such a great elementary. We miss you so much SPES.

If you are a parent who willingly accepts that public school has the best there is educationally to offer your student, then Sand Pine is probably the right school choice for your child. However, beware of the politicing and an administration that caters to the 'clique-ish' rather than the most sound, well planned, or thought out judgement. The pod/multi-age system works fine if your child can easily assimilate into that kind of environment, and if you land in the 'right' pod. Otherwise your child could face a first year teacher who leaves in the middle of the year and then face being shuffled to another classroom post haste along with 22 other children who have been stranded. The communication at the school between the staff, administration and parents is mediocre at best. If you have a good viable school alternative, my recommendation is that you seriously check it out!
