My son is currently finishing up his kindergarten year at Arboretum. We just moved to Waunakee last summer from hours away so we knew no one when he started out the school year. He raves about all of his wonderful teachers and has made tons of good friends. The school is very clean, the staff is friendly, and I love that they are always willing to take volunteers in the classroom or let parents eat lunch with the kids. At the beginning of the year, he could read two words (literally, his name and mine) and now he is reading with little to no help. Bonus, starting Spanish in Kindergarten has been a really exciting experience for him and he loves to utilize what he has learned when he's outside of school. We could not be more pleased. Sheila Wiehart is a very active face in the school's events. It gives a wonderful feeling to see the principal of the school first thing in the morning holding the for open for the kids. She does an incredible job at creating relationships with everyone.

Currently two of our three children are at Arboretum. The teachers already know my youngest who will not start kindergarten until next year. We could not be happier with the education. Teacher are very detailed and organized. We have constant communication with the teachers and staff. In a school of Great teachers I still have noticed some teachers are extrodinary. Mrs. Bertz is one of those teachers that will go way above and beyond for a student. She is very in touch with kids emotions in the kindergarden level. She know how to nuture and develope young minds in a kind and compassionate manner. After kindergarden the kids start to recieve homework every day. The homework comes with all the details on how to help your child. I have noticed and I enjoy how the teachers hold parents accountable in helping the kids understand their homework. As they require a parent to sign homework demonstrating they reviewed with their children. I am sure some parents feel added pressure but this really teaches children that their patents are involved in their success. In addition, the principle Sheila Weihert is always available and we see her many times while at school. I think if you are an active parent that wants to participate in your child's learning you could not find a better school.

My son is in Kindergarten at Arboretum Elementary and having a wonderful experience. My son has flourished not just academically but socially. The staff at Arboretum is dedicated to helping students grow and learn at whatever academic level they are at. Parents are very involved in the school and the staff is nurturing and supportive. I love that my son is learning Spanish at such a young age as well as focusing on all of the other important academic areas. We chose to move to Waunakee for the schools and I'm so glad we did as we love Arboretum.

Arboretum Elementary School is very organized and careful about making sure students are accounted for. The students feel safe to concentrate on the lessons in the classroom, given by their excellent teachers. If parents are delayed in picking up students, the children will be happily sitting in the school office. Parents are invited often to the school to see what the students have been learning and creating. The support system is fantastic, from having packets of school supplies available to purchase to having fundraisers to provide extras for the school.

I am floored by the one star review submitted earlier...so much so that I am not convinced it is even valid. We feel so incredibly blessed to have our kids at Arboretum. The teachers and school as a whole are amazing. My kids absolutely LOVE going to school and they do an incredible job at Arboretum fostering a love of learning and providing a supportive environment for doing so. Honestly, I couldn't imagine a better school...it's perfect!!

We are one of many family's who have been forced to remove their children from this school due to a lack of education. The school depends on wealthy family's who teach their children outside school. Worksheets were sent home with concepts not covered in class. Some teachers are great, but if you have one that is not the principal will do nothing. Our daughter went from loving school to hating school. Avoid Arboretum at all costs!

At Arboretum, Ms. Weihert, the principal and her staff have created a nurturing and a positive learning environment where all students can succeed. My son is enjoying his learning experience at Arboretum. He loves math, Spanish and reading just as much as he loves his art, phy. ed. and music classes. Along with learning content, he is learning to be a good leader and appreciative of various traditions and beliefs. I am impressed with the instructional strategies that are being used at Arboretum.
