Depending on your neighborhood, there is not a direct bus from your house to the school. The school district expects children, ages K-4th grade, to take a bus from their homes, to another elementary school, and then take a bus from the first elementary school in the district to another elementary school. This happens for the am and afternoon routes. Oh, and parents find out about this nonsense the third week in August, with school starting September 1, 2022. Even if you wanted to make alternate plans, you cannot due to the surprise nature of this development. Welcome to the neighborhood. Also, my daughter is assigned to a third grade classroom, where it is the teacher's first year. Meaning she has zero experience. This is not what I expected.

Everyone raves about the Waunakee schools, but after three years there I'm still not impressed. My son struggled in Kindergarten and was labeled "difficult". Not one person in that school has helped us. And as for the principle I have found him very unapproachable.
