Level of teaching has drastically fallen in last 2 years. The maths teacher doesn't teach anything at all. Children don't know even the basics about fractions, geometrical shapes and their area/volume calculations. Even the way multiplication and division is taught is totally useless. Children can't do mental maths even for basic addition/subtraction steps. This is because the maths teacher doesn't teach absolutely anything.

We have had a wonderful experience at Valley View Middle School. I have two children there. The principal, Mrs. Kidd, is wonderful. I feel that she has created a great vibe through the school that transfers to the teachers and students. The teachers are great in many ways. The school offers opportunities for students to excel in the arts, athletics, science and technology, and more. Mrs. Morrison and Ms. Nestor have been wonderful to help our daughter excel at band and art. Mrs. Urbano is a fantastic teacher all around. There are just so many great teachers there who make Valley View a great school to be at.

My children are thriving at Valley View middle school. The school system is why we moved from Manhattan to Watchung, and we couldn’t be more pleased. With a child in both Valley View and Bayberry elementary we are so happy with our choice! Teachers are wonderful. Mrs Nunn is a strong leader as principal and the students are a great community of kids.

I was a student here and had a fantastic experience. They staff was warm, caring and made sure to pay special attention if you needed some extra help. I will always remember Valley View fondly and am still in touch with the friends that I made attending.

Not a bad place at all! So many nice and hopeful parents and families, lots of whom seem to have moved here to get away from North Jersey. But it's a "teach to the average student" kind of place. The kids are sweet but spoiled. Somehow the school seems to fear the creation of a competitive academic and intellectual environment. Not sure they even know what that means. Yet that is exactly what Valley View needs to keep so many of the smartest and most interesting from leaving the system for the local private schools.
