Our child has been a student at Mountain Park for the past few years. The quality of the teachers is inconsistent, some are fantastic and others are average. The principal is terrible. He is unresponsive to parents and unconcerned about the students. The schools caters to the special needs students to the detriment of the other students. Special needs students are permitted to disrupt classes and harass and threaten other students with apparent impunity. The facilities of the school are adequate. We moved to Berkeley Heights for the school system and so far are very disappointed with what we are finding. With respect to Mountain Park, we feel that a majority of our concerns would be addressed by the removal of the current principal.

Mountain Park Elementary School. Mountain Park offers a warm, supportive environment in which our kids can learn and thrive. In general, Berkeley Heights is doing a great job being progressive about changing common core standards and preparing for PARCC testing which begins next year. By carefully comparing our curriculum to the core standards and testing requirements changes are made gradually to the programs so our kids are prepared. Also, a massive infusion of technology, professional development for teachers, and network improvements and new teacher and administrator evaluation systems will keep our district at the top in terms of NJ education!

Great school. Active and very involved PTA. My son is a graduate of Mountain Park. He loved the school and the teachers, who were all wonderful and full of enthusiasm. My 2nd son will also be attending Mountain Park soon. I feel confident that he will also be receiving an excellent and amazing education.
