I was dragged through the Wareham school system from Kindergarten, all the way through graduation. I was also bullied from kindergarten, all the way through graduation. Teachers, staff, guidance counselors, and the school disciplinary officers were all aware. Nothing was ever done to rectify the issue. In fact, an “I didn’t see it, so it didn’t happen,” attitude was adopted by the lot. As an adult, after finally seeking out the screening I needed through my entire school experience, I’ve also come to learn that while this school would lead everyone to believe “I simply wasn’t applying myself, and wasn’t exercising critical thinking skills,” I’m autistic, suffer from dyslexia and dyscalculia, and struggle with executive dysfunction. Multiple learning disabilities required accommodation, and an adapted learning structure, that I never had access to. This resulted in my failing math yearly from third grade on. A failure to understand homework, which I would be punished for my inability to do. As well as having no understanding of study, or organization skills, which, rather than doing their jobs and teaching me, I was routinely berated for. As an adult with proper support, I have learned more than I forgot while I was in school. My experience with Wareham High school, and the Wareham school system as a whole, amounts to 14 years of wasted time.

In my opinion the main problem with the school is everyone leaving for school choice. Each child that leaves hurts the school financially, reputation wise, and then overall opportunities in the school because there are so few kids. Also, the people who are leaving are usually the engaged kids with involved parents which leaves the school with the troubled kids - further hurting the school.

I highly recommend WHS, strong sports programs, we’d love to see more growth and fellow families come back to the town schools. My child is back, she is enjoying her classes, teachers, soccer and DECA. The teachers, administrators & former parents are involved and believe in our kids. Growing parent involvement . Let’s GO VIKINGS!

I went here myself a long time ago & now I’ve had two kiddos go there so far. I think , there’s a good size amount of teachers & staff that TRULY care. But then the “higher ups” and authority figures make it feel like a place that only the sports kids get recognition at, or are HEARD? Young females going here, I don’t think feel all that safe with the way they are spoken to & treated by the young males that go here. Too much focus on “state testing” & not enough classes that really TEACH them anything. But then again; that’s really in any US Public School System! So WHS can’t help THAT I guess….Unless they wanted it to go “against the grain & teach these kids what the world is REALLY about.

Wareham high school is an excellent school. They offer many different options for classes including AP and Dual enrollment. My student is participating in the dual enrollment program taking classes at Bridgewater State in the mornings. Wareham provides transportation to and from the college. They guided us through the whole process making it an easy transition. My student has also had the opportunity to participate in programs like Girls State thanks to the staff at the high school recommending and nominating her for different programs. Any time I have had any concerns, the principal and staff at the school have been very receptive to hearing my concerns and working to resolve them quickly. There is no shortage of clubs or sports teams to join. The student athletes are so supportive of each other. Often you can find a team showing up at another sports game cheering for their school. I cannot say enough good things about the experience we have had with the Wareham schools.

Excellent - this is a great school that offers all of its students amazing opportunities whether they are college-bound or getting ready for a career or the military after graduation.

Wareham High School is an amazing school. I came to the school in the middle of the year from another state. The students and teachers went out of there way to welcome me . I have moved a total of 6 times and 2 different high Schools and this school made me feel at home. I was bullied at every other school I went to and I have never been bullied at this school and never see anyone else getting bullied. I was shocked to see the reviews. Also this school offers tons of AP and and honors classes that really challenge you and not to mention they have tons of clubs and after school activities.

My husband and I are originally from Massachusetts and both attended Wareham High School. When we moved back to Wareham in August, 2014, we were getting negative reviews from friends. I have to say, they were wrong! While the school year has just started, I am so impressed with the teachers and guidance office at the high school! My two boys were home schooled for 3-4 years and were very nervous (as was I) about starting school. But the teachers have been amazing, very welcoming and understanding, and the students have been so friendly and fun! A couple of the teachers were quite impressed that my boys had seen a lot of the material that has been introduced to them during their first week (I suppose I was giving them "advanced" work during their home school years). Over all, so far, I give the high school 4 stars. This may very well increase to 5 stars as the year goes on! Furthermore, the principal of the high school, who knows my husband, approached one of my boys on his first day and had a nice talk with him. :-)

As a parent of a graduate of WHS I would like to commend the staff (administration, teachers, secretaries, custodial and food service) they have been an amazing support system for my child during her 4 years of high school. WHS is a supportive school and treats all students with kindness and compassion. They are a Level 1 school and do a great job preparing students for college and the business world alike. Kudos to Wareham High for doing all that that do with the miniscule budget they have! Keep up the great work!!

Despite all of the negative reviews and criticizm, my child has faired pretty well in the Wareham School system. The high school should do more to promote itself. I hear endless conversation about what it doesnt have, maybe its time to hear what it does. Parents contribute to the childs success, not just the schools. It takes a village to raise a child, not a school

this school has to be one of the biggest jokes i have ever seen. most of the teachers that teach dont know how to teach either they dont explain things or all they do is give out excessive work so that they look like a good teacher. this school's students also are terrible and there behavior is terrible. plus most of the teachers dont know what is really going on there because if they did they would no of all the bullying that really goes on
