We moved back to Tyler in the middle of my daughter’s first grade year and as we have started to get a glimpse of what happens after high school (we just started visiting colleges since she is a junior), I am incredibly grateful for the education and experience she has received at Grace Community School. A Christian education was important to me not as a replacement for teaching Jesus at home, but as a supplement. I love that Grace faculty and staff teach from a Christian worldview. It is apparent as I work alongside teachers that they love Jesus and love our children. I see them as partners who reinforce what we are teaching at home and know my daughter will leave high school equipped to influence the world for Christ in college and in the workplace. I love Grace Community School and know you will too!

We have three graduates and the school not only prepared them for college and work, but for life in God's kingdom. They are employed, have kids that they are enrolling at Grace, and active in their churches.

We have been at GCS for 15 years and have seen and been a part of some growing pains, as well as some incredible things. We feel that GCS is currently making strides with an anti-bullying program, which is something our older daughter struggled with years ago. The curriculum is college-prep geared, challenging, and Biblically-based, which we love. There is ample opportunity for involvement in sports and the arts. In fact, it is encouraged. We are pleased with our experience and highly recommend GCS to any family seeking a high-quality education for their children.

We have had an amazing experience at Grace Community School. We love the foundation of our children's education is JESUS! Everything is taught through him - reading, writing, math, science and disciple! We love our teachers and community! Highly recommend GCS!

We've stepped back into GCS after being away for 12 years. Our daughter came in as a Junior in high school...often a hard transition. Our experience however has been a blessing. Students have opened their arms and friendship circles, and have made her transition a very positive experience. That spirit of inclusiveness has been felt in the classroom too. Thank you to the faculty of GCS!

My family has had experience with several Christian schools, and Grace is far and away the best. No place is perfect, but Grace's Leadership seeks God's will for providing an excellent education, and their teachers and extracurricular directors/coaches pursue their calling with excellence. Our kids don't ever want to go anywhere else.

My children attend Grace and love going to school everyday. The teachers and administration truly care about each student in making sure they succeed in academics, but also in building their character. Their athletics and fine arts programs are top notch as well.

As a student, I can highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to come. I have been going here for 10 years and I can not imagine myself anywhere else. Let's start with the curriculum. While challenging, it offers the perfect blend of grace and help when you need it. Every day teachers get to school an hour early for the specific reason of helping and tutoring students if they will come to them. Also, on the other side of the spectrum, Grace offers higher classes that are truly chanellenging even for the most advanced students. While Grace has an excellent academic system, they also have outstanding athletics and extra-curricular activities. In athletics, the coaches push you further then you thought you could ever go without risking near death! The work-outs are challenging and can be tough at times, but they also have mercy and understanding. They realize that not everyone is extremely athletically gifted and base their workouts around your capabilities and what they know you can do. As for extra curricular activities, they are outstanding. Our musical classes always provide challenging music pieces to make us better and better and our artistic classes are very good. All in all, Grace is an amazing school and I could never imagine not being here. P.S - Don't believe that parent! Plants do grow here I promise!

Two children that are benefiting from a very good balance of life and school. The times were not always fun and games however the tough times gave us an opportunity to teach life lessons.

My child is a senior at Grace and has been at the school since K4. It has been the best decision we have ever made for her as parents. The decisions she makes, the friends with whom she's surrounded, the study skills and content she's learned at Grace, are all a tremendous reflection of teachers who love her and are truly committed to weaving God's Word and truth into her life. The school is rigorous, but so is life, and she is prepared for it. We wanted a school that would prepare her for both spiritual and academic success, and God was faithful to provide. So many of my friends' children who are alumni and in college reflect how successful and well-prepared they were relative to their peers who graduated from other schools. The school is a true, loving community of human beings, both loving and flawed, like anywhere else. If one is willing to handle conflict as God commands us all to do when we live in community, we and everyone else become stronger for it. That's been our experience. Thank you, Grace, for 14 remarkable years.

I am a former student. I would not recommend this school for any child. The high school students are given so much homework and most of my friends are on anxiety meds. My parents pulled me out Jr year. Ms shaeffer always blew me off whenever I complained of being bullied and had to spend many lunch breaks in the bathroom crying.

[i would have rated 4.5 if available - since GCS has areas that need improvement - we have another 8 years of experience having our children at a Christian school in the Dallas area, so the rating reflects a comparison against a solid Christian school that would would have gotten 3 stars due to many areas GCS vastly outperforms them] We have had our kids at GCS for the past 7 years, and it has truly been a blessing for our family - we believe God called us to East Texas and Grace - . GCS is not perfect (humans are involved, so...), but the faculty and staff at Grace have shown our family that they truly love and care about our children and are focused on teaching Jesus. My children have experienced a good balance of academics, arts, and athletics. My prayer is that the GCS administration reads, listens to the feedback they are getting on this site and digs in and addresses any and all legitimate issues in a manner that will glorify God!! Areas for improvement (imho) - female athletic programs need vast improvement overall; we are not fans of the mandatory (and expensive) class trips every year during high school.

My family moved to Tyler 5 years ago and we all fell in love with the school. One child is shy & one is outgoing and both were well received.(We have always taught "be a friend to get a friend.") If you are looking for a school that truly has a heart for teaching Jesus, you will find it among the leadership & many of the teachers. Is it perfect? No, but neither am I. GCS is an excellent school w/a heart for teaching it's students about Jesus, serving and influencing the world for Christ . 1. They provide a Biblical World View 2. Many caring and great teachers 3. Academically rigorous/college prep 4. MANY wonderful kids to connect with. 5. Drama, Choir, Sports, Orchestra, Drumline, Debate 6. No Uniforms! :)

Grace Community School is an incredible school. From the amazing teachers to the amazing coaches to the caring staff our children are taught well! Our faith is infused in every aspect of the teaching and the academic support creates an environment that all kids can be successful in learning. We are so grateful for Grace!!!

We have had our children at GCS since K5, and our last of 2 is a senior this year. We are so thankful to have had GCS working along side us in helping to raise our children in a Jesus centered school where they have been loved, where they have been given many opportunities to serve others, where they have learned and been prepared for college. We have seen such positive change and growth over the years and pray God continues to bless GCS!

Grace is a great size school: big enough to offer many activities & classes, but small enough for students to participate. I have one child who attended from pre-K and already graduated, one is a junior, and one in fifth grade. They have many wonderful friends, but appreciated the faculty of GCS more than anything. Grace has been the perfect fit for our family.
