I am so grateful for Annunciation School. It is such a special part of our community. The administration and teachers continually go above and beyond for each child.

Annunciation is an incredible school community. From the moment you enter the school doors, there is a warmth and energy that cannot be beat. Our principal has gone above and beyond to make such each and every child is cared for academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally, upholding the values and mission of our school. We are so grateful for her leadership during times when the world around us has changes so much, our children have the opportunity to attend school each day and welcome learning and praying together with their teachers and classmates.

Amazing school and community. My daughter is reading and writing at or above grade level because of dedicated teachers. Anyone who complains about this amazing school and principal clearly just have a personal small issue that didn’t immediately disappear. No school is school or setting is perfect and if you child has special needs know your resources as a parent rather than blaming a small school for your inability to do research. The teachers and staff, especially the principal are all accredited to be teaching and working as administrators—do your HW people. If you are so happy, go elsewhere sheesh. Thank you CAITI and HSA for making this school what it is!

I know family that went to this school about 20 years ago. It was so different back then because they had rules for everyone, good academics and a lot less bullying. I send my daughter here now and each year it gets worse and the bullying is out of control. The principal works part time and this leaves the assistant in charge. Both don't know what they are doing and only favor certain families. You know the ones with big mouths and big money. The middle school has two or three teachers that try real hard to keep the place going and it honestly they run the school beacuse they listen to parents and care for the kids. Then the other middle school teachers are terrible there is one who doesn't teach anything but then gives tests!!! Lower grade teachers are ok some are seasoned and are great the rest are kids, like in there 20s. My daughter has one year to go but its time to pull her now.

If you don't live in "Crestwood" - which, according to the tax bill is GASP, Yonkers - Don't bother.

I would give this school a high rating. I feel supported and that my children are receiving the highest, most structured, and brightest Catholic education.

In the begining it was a good experience. Now I have a child in middle school and one in the younger grades and the school has gotten worse over the years. As I became more active, I also saw how terrible many parents treat others, especially those who are not part of the "in" crowd. Basically if you don't live in Crestwood proper and don't worship Trump you are ostracized by the other parents. While there are some good teachers in the school most are not very approachable. Many lower grade teachers can't be bothered speaking with parents. As for the middle school , there are a few teachers you can speak with and they really do care. The others are just plain rude. Bottom line, this school is all about who you know, nothing Catholic about it except for the name. I will have to make a tough decision next September as my kids don't want to leave their friends.

Math scores decline as the years advance; school is focused on checking boxes, not supporting and educating children to learn and grow. There is a new principal so perhaps things will improve.

My daughter has attended Annunciation since kindergarten and I have seen the school steadily decline through the years. I am currently looking at other school options for my daughter as I have had enough of the hypocrisy of this catholic schooland the ridiculous “clicks” from other parents. They put up a nice show in the beginning but once your in you get to see how rotten some of these people and their children are. Ms. Cosgrove and Ms. McEnerney are two genuinely kind women who I respect greatly, however, I cannot say that about the rest of the staff.

My two daughters had a wonderful experience at Annunciation. They excelled academically, and were more than prepared for high school-one English teacher in hs asked what grammar school my daughter had attended, and when she said AES, the teacher nodded and said she was not surprised! They made many wonderful friends, and participated in after school activities. We met many wonderful families and loved the strong sense of community. Would recommend!

Antiquated teaching techniques and inflated grading. Too much homework and unnecessary testing. Academics meet the learning needs of the average student. There is no differentiation to meet the needs of the higher achieving students or the students who need extra attention. Principal is solely focused on enrollment and very unapproachable. A small hand selected board of parents meet with the principal regarding fundraising and other PTA type issues. There isn’t a forum for ALL of the parents to come together about these issues.

As a student is was excellent. As a parent, my children received an excellent education and developed lifelong friendships.

I have seen Annunciation through two lenses: as a student and now as a parent. After all these years, Annunciation continues to empower its students, giving them the knowledge, character and ability to become successful high school students and, of course, adults. Just as I did, my two sons, who are in first and third grades, are thriving here, both academically and socially. They are not only learning the core subjects, but are learning how to be respectful and how to be good people. We have great experiences with each of their teachers so far, and I find the principal to be stern, but fair and approachable. There is so much happening outside of the four walls of school. The school and Home School Association offer many opportunities, like Bingo Night, Family Fun Night and Lip Sync, for students to have fun and for parents to get to know each other better in a more relaxed setting. When you choose to enroll your child at Annunciation, you are not just joining a school, you are joining a community of wonderful people who are all dedicated to making the school great. I cannot say enough good things about Annunciation.

I attended this school for nine years, kindergarten-8th grade and I have the absolute worst memories of it. Not only was I constantly put down by the teachers there, I was also excluded by the community. I used to wake up in the morning and dread going to school. When I graduated, it was the best feeling in the world. In High School, I found out that I wasn't dumb, in fact I finally realized I was really smart. I always thought I was stupid in Annunciation cause that's what the teachers always implied. I hated the principal there, she's an icy old woman. She didn't even bother to learn my name and she looks like an overgrown guinea pig. Save your money, don't send your child here. These people are sorry excuses for Catholics.

My kindergarten son attends Annunciation and he is thriving both academically and socially. He's a quick learner and started pre-k here already recognizing all alphabet letters and numbers. The school offers a sound academic foundation, within a strong community. The afterschool clubs offer some exposure to extracurricular activities, as well as sports that begin in 1st grade and fundraisers/parent association activities. We considered yonkers public schools, but annunciation offered much more than an academic curriculum.

I sent my 5 yr old to Annunciation for the full day pre-k program. Bottom line it was a waste of money- after spending almost $7,000 she doesn't even know her vowels or complete alphabet. She does know her Hail Mary though (sarcasm added). Don't waste your money here- the principal is a cold hearted woman and evidently the academics stink

teh skool is rlly bad. People are like, so crazy. My kindergartner came home today knowing everything about the birds and the bees, not the animal kind! Warning to those considering.

While there are a few dedicated professionals; the education is sub-par and antiquated. The principal's main objective is to collect as much money as possible from families, while she blatantly caters to those with deep pockets and fund raising abilities. It is difficult economic times. However, for all those fees she should be working on being more informed, and embracing the ideas and methodologies needed in education in 2014, in order for all students to be academically successful. Behaviors in general --of staff, parents and even some students, are a direct contradiction with the Christian values supposedly instilled and taught in the school. What a shame !

My children attend this school and since the arrival of the new principal (going on 2nd year), it is steadily going downhill. A FEW of the teachers and support staff have left and for the first time in 5 years I am actually considering sending my children elsewhere. The principal has no interest in outside input from her staff (I've been told) or from the parents (witnessed first hand). Her communication skills are lacking - she is very cold and curt and is truly of the mindset it's her way or the highway. The ONLY thing keeping my children there right now are their teachers and if any more of them leave, so will my children. I've seen some reviews complaining that the parents are unwelcoming to outsiders of the Crestwood community. I moved to Yonkers almost 6 years ago and from day 1 was welcomed to the school and invited to Crestwood area events. The parents are VERY involved with everything.
