This school is exceptional. It provides small classes with individualized attention in a warm, caring and academically-enriching atmosphere. The teachers and staff really care about what each child needs and they communicate with parents on a regular basis about how their child is doing. The technology component of the learning is top notch and there are lots of extracurricular options as well - golf, cooking, chess, and more. We are delighted with the experience that our children and family have had as members of this exceptional community. The Chapel School is a Westchester gem!

Hi! I've gone to this school before, and it's been good for my 2 year experience. But I've been having problems with a certain teacher that all (no, not majority but ALL) students complain about, and she gives marks for no reason, if you know who I'm talking about.On the positive side, the other S.S, ELA, (my favorite) and Science teachers are great, and help you get better in skills you're struggling in! The students are really nice, and help you get around. :DHave a good day/night!-A

Chapel is an outstanding school. I have taught at a well known private school in NYC for the past 10 years and I would put this hidden Westchester gem up against it any day of the week. It has a diverse student body, a well run and welcoming PTO, excellent communication between the school and the families, and a thoughtful comprehensive curriculum. Last but not least, this school is nurturing and warm - very special place. The preschool director is not nice or warm but don't let that put you off.

We have had a fabulous experience with Chapel School so far in Kindergarten! The teachers are extremely nurturing and patient. The families at this school seem so friendly and caring. It's a great community!

The Preschool program is fantastic (there is a Spanish component as well as true Kindergarten readiness) - they even won Best Preschool in Westchester in 2014. The small class sizes in K-8 keep instruction individualized and challenging. The music program is amazing -- their select choir has sung the National Anthem at a Mets game for 14 years!

This school has an ok pre k program, not worth it for the money. They definitely play favorites and not everyone is treated equally. Boys completely outnumber girls and the principle is lax, perhaps too lax for a private school. As a product of catholic/private schools in New York, I expect higher standards and higher academics and this school just doesn't offer these things. I would look elsewhere if I were you.

Very very good English prep for the upper grades. A lot of reading is stressed, BUT Math is average if that. No advanced math is offered, no regents exams. So if you have a child that excels in math this is NOT the school for you. Boys out number the girls by far. Lots of favorites and the rules don't apply equally to everyone. Good Music dept. Too much time wasted on parties and too much candy/junk given. Uniform rules needs to be enforced Boys need haircuts. Teachers updating FACEbook during class time. Religion period is skipped some of the time. Assistant principal is great and relates to kids. Visitors, student teachers, go to Chapel wearing inappropriate clothing like beachwear. Disrespectful for the type of school it is. Parent involvement is great. My children received a decent education while they were there supplemented by extra work at home. Do your research before you enroll. Especially if you have daughters.

This school is GREAT,especially when it comes to culture, but having two of my children come through their kindergarden and first grade reading program, I was certainly disappointed. The try to teach phonograms out of context leaving many kids confused, and this seems to be the main focus leaving traditional phonics and other methods out of the equation. I knew parents who have had to send their kids to hours of Extra help (from very willing and competent kindergarden and first grade teachers) when a balanced program would have solved the problem. Some have even paid for additional tutors. After paying tuition I think that is too much. Once your child knows how to read grades 2-8 are wonderful. They truly do enrich the primary and middle school experience, and the whole child is nurtured and grows. They are responsive to parental input, and they keep up with other educational trends. Overall it is the best the area has to offer. Except kindergarden and first grade in that case you would be better off at your local grade school.
